Kara's POV

The aftermath he had created had all but trained me for this, hopefully. Blood dripped from my face and hands, that was expected. This time when the villain attempted to drop me into a coma I wasn't having it, staying awake was something I'd attempted to perfect.

He trained me to be better than this, I forgot to look for some secret weapon hiding in my old apartment. He told me to find it before I met the Anti-Monitor and I couldn't even do that. There wasn't exactly the time. What was important was what I learnt of his origin, he was the opposite of The Monitor. He destroyed universes and all that stood against him was me. I'd learnt of his powers and I wasn't sure how I was supposed to survive this. With his minions, I just wasn't sure how I was supposed to fight them all. That massive being looming over the city could kind of be intimidating, everyone else had run and left me. As far as I could check, I was alone to fight this battle. My mentor, The Monitor just couldn't help me with this one. I couldn't kill him, I couldn't even fight him that well. I thought I'd done well to avoid his attacks though, succeeded in becoming a nuisance. Apparently my plan worked too well. He held me in his clutches like I was a mere child's toy. Fighting, struggling, bartering, I just couldn't get free. Now, I had been expecting to die but not so soon. As his fist tightened I saw memories of the future, what was to come if I couldn't do this. If I let him win now trillions, if not more would die. I thought about this as the air was stripped from my lungs and everything started going dark.

He hadn't shown mercy, but his brother's present to me had angered him enough to throw me to the ground a few hundred metres below. Around me stood a hundred innocent eyes, how could they have ever seen something of this scale before? Maybe everyone hadn't left me to die. The crater that had been carved out beneath me had formed so close I almost didn't want to move. I could give up, just stop fighting. All those faces around me, worried and scared and the woman I left behind, I had to do this for them. So I clambered to my feet and spat the blood out of my mouth. Hope, help and compassion for all, that is what I stand for.

There were powers of his that I'd only seen the ruins of, I couldn't let him use them on the planet I chose to protect. What I believed to be an 'antimatter blast' sprung from his fists towards me. Thankfully it only hit some skyscraper wall before petering out. No one had been killed just yet. Since he was using his powers I just had to make sure he couldn't touch me, or I wouldn't stand a chance. I needed some kind of miracle. I'd even tested simulations and never had I ever fought a foe so difficult. He never even tired. He was smart, he was indestructible and he was possibly as old as time itself, how could I even defeat him? All the training had taught me one thing, to look for weaknesses. There was a minuscule gap in his armour, surely I could find a way through. If I moved fast enough I may be able to get through.

I had to be quick enough that he didn't destroy the planet while I built up speed but it was possible. The worries and cries for me could be heard across the globe, faster. The speed of it was starting to tear at my skin like it had before, not long now. I couldn't stop. Being fast enough had meant circling several times and all I could do to help the pain was cry out. As he came back into view it seemed he hadn't quite spotted me. The gap was visible and with all the kinetic energy I could deal a painful blow once inside. His pain had only angered him, thankfully he couldn't touch me now. Darting around and continuing to attack left him a furious mess. As a last ditch attempt he increased his size, he may have managed to throw me out but I had him on the ropes now.

This ferocious monster stared me down. He may have been as big as a small moon now but that gap was bigger too, not just to find it. A hand swung out towards me, I avoided it but I wasn't the intended target. The other one wore a similar suit and a very stoic expression on his face. The arm had flung him back and he didn't see the fist as it hammered down towards him. I promised to help them all. My yells didn't move him, his reaction time was too slow. He stared at me as I used everything I had to reach him first, still he didn't notice anything. I made it in time.
