"I'd like to introduce the one of the youngest and most successful doctor in her field. Dr. Jaiden Nicole Yaqar Jehnsen." Bill, The medical board of directors chairmen introduces me.
Standing up from my seat I make my way to the podium, shaking Bill's hand I start to rearrange my speech. Looking out to the crowd of medical practitioners I began my speech.
"First off thank you all so much for having me. It's always been a dream of mine to come to this conference because of my mother. She was a cardiologist, I know most of you older Doctors will remember her. Dr. Jade Rian Jehnsen. Well she is the one that planted the seed in my mind about being a Dr. I would hear stories all the time about how great and caring of a doctor she was and how all of her patients loved her because she simply treated them like regular people instead of just a sick person. I would also hear how she was an inspiration to other doctors in her field. By the age of 12 I realized I wanted to be just like her, a great doctor who cared for their patients. That was 18 years ago that I decided my career path. My mother inspired me enough to stick with it and she's the main reason why I'm standing before you today.
I remember the day I finished medical school 7 years ago, My mother was so happy for me, she threw a huge party in my honor. She wanted everyone to know about my success. I recall her pulling me aside at the party and telling me she was so proud of me and she was happy with the field I'd chosen. She told me during my residency, there would be days I wouldn't want to work because I would be very tired because of the long shifts. She said there would be days were it would be so overwhelming I'd question my reasons of ever wanting to be a doctor, and some days I would be frustrated. But to always remember my reason for striving to be a Crit Dr and that's what would insure I would be a great Dr. Sadly my mother died shortly after I had begun my residency and she never had the chance of celebrating that accomplishment with me. But I've taken everything she's told me to heart and with my own convictions I've been able to serve my patients and make them feel comfortable while they are in pain just like she did. And for that I'll always be grateful to her and through using her methods of care is my way of making her memory live on." Staring briefly into the crowd of distinguished medical personnel with a soft smile I continue.
"I would also like to give a special thanks to Mount Moriah hospital and Physician Don Stuart. for seeing my potential and allowing me to do my residency there. I feel that working there I've been able to actually use my gifts and accomplish more than I ever thought possible. It also feels like a second home and each day I look forward to working with him along with my fellow crit doctors and nurses. At last remembering why I choose to be a doctor has always strengthened my resolve that the critical care unit is where I belong, thank you." Finishing my speech hear a round of applause. Looking out to the crowd I notice that several people have shed a tear or two. Picking up my speech cards I make my way back to my seat. Thanking the women who record the speech for me I take my phone and sit down before the next speech begins.

"We'll now take 2 hours for lunch and proceed with the conference afterwards." Bill dismisses everyone.Gathering my things to leave I feel a tap on my shoulder, turning a round I see its one of my mom's old colleagues. "Doctor Price! I didn't think I'd see you here, it's been years, how are you?"
"I'm doing well Jai, I just wanted to congratulate you on that beautiful speech you gave. Your mother would be so proud of you." He compliments .
"Thank you Timothy, that really means a lot to me." I express.
Giving me a soft smile he pulls me into a hug. "My pleasure dear. You have a lot of wisdom that would take some doctors years to gather. Just keep doing what your doing and you'll never lose your passion." He instructs releasing me and leaving.
