"How are you doing back there?" I yell out hoping she can here me over all the noise. We've been riding for about thirty minutes. The whole ride is an hour and a half, considering we're coming from LaGuardia airport and we both live on long island.
"I'm great!" She yells back, tightening her grip on my abdomen.
Happy with the answer I continue to weave and bob through the traffic, trying to cut down the time. Getting down her street I decide to test her reaction. Going faster I pop a willy and to my surprise instead of her screaming bloody murder she cheers. Now this is my kinda girl, I think to myself. Killing the engine I put the kickstand on and get off, offering a hand to Nickole to help her off too.
The house is a nice modern, two story red brick house. The lawn is freshly mowed, there's a beautiful flower bed right beside the door, and the path way leading to the house has solar lights flanking it.
"I don't mean to sound forward or anything but, it's 1:30 in the morning and I'd feel much better if you'd stay the night, it's not good to be out riding at this hour." She tries to convince me, once we've reached her door.
"Uh, that's very nice of you but I'm used to do driving, riding at at this hour so I should be ok." I politely decline. Not wanting to invade her space.
"Same for me, but we've just been on a plane for 25 hours not to mention the fact that you just finished riding for almost 2 hours. I'm pretty sure you're exhausted. Besides I've got two nice guest rooms you can choose from and some clothes that may fit you." She points out.
Weighing my options, I know for sure I am in fact tired and Diana should be ok without me for a few more hours. Running my hand through my hair and rubbing my eyes I down slightly, to see she's already looking at me in anticipation. "I think you make very valid points and I think I'm going to take you up on that offer." I finally agree.
Giving me a satisfied smile she opens the door and claps her hands which causes the lights to turn on.
Stepping in myself it's a nice place and I notice there's two hallways. One directly in front of us and another going left. Following her down the one that goes left we get to the living room. The Walls are a nice Shaw of lavender which gives the room a relaxed atmosphere. right on the middle of the room, there's a tan love seat with two off white recliners flanking it in front of a mounted 70 inch flat screen TV that's above a fire place. To my right is what appears to be a reading corner, if the book shelf and two bean bags are anything to go on. To my left is a set of cabinets with. The labels on them indicate that it's snack cabinet, most likely for movie nights.
Looking back, Nickole seems to have been observing me for a reaction. Catching her eyes she smiles, nods her head to the left, and starts walking back down the hall and to the straight hall way.Following her we get to a set of doors. Two on my left, and one on my right that is across from one of the doors on the left. And looking straight ahead a little ways down the halls is another door. Watching her she goes to the first door on the left. Opening it and walking in she sticks he hear back out. "Come in." She says before disappearing back into the room. Looking around the room, it's painted sky blue with a queen sized bed with a matching bedspread. A nightstand and small desk and chair is to the left of it. And to the right is a door which I assume leads to a bathroom. There's also a door directly in front of the bed which is most likely the closet.
Turning back to her, she's observing me again. "So what do you think?" She questions.I
"I like it, more specifically the colors of the walls. The shade of blue you chose makes for a relaxing atmosphere."
"Great, I would show you the rest of the house now but I can see just how exhausted you are from your eyes. So with that being said I'm going to go get you a change of clothes." She dismisses herself, closing the door behind her.
