I ate the french toast without another word and continued to the van. Toriel drove me to school, only asking how my night had been. Soon, we got to school. She opened the door for me, and then got back in the car.
"Aren't you gonna get out? You have work today, don't you?" I asked her.
"What??? Kris, I've never had a job, Asgore takes care of that. Now, stop fooling around and get to school!"
I turned back around and replayed her reply in my head. What did Asgore have to do with anything? While thinking, I accidentally ran directly into someone.
"Oof! Sorry, I-" I looked up and saw a purple dinosaur staring down at me with a red face.
"N-no, I'm sorry, I should've been looking where I was going, I shouldn't have been in the way, please don't be mad, it was an accident I swear-"
I cut her off by wrapping her tightly into a hug. She squeaked a little bit.
"Susie! I thought you were- I'm so relieved to see you!"
"O-oh, h-hi?" I pulled away from the hug and smiled at her. She looked embarrassed and a little uncomfortable.
"How did you make it out? Are you hurt?"
"I-I'm fine...? I-If you don't mind me asking..."
"Yes?"
"D-do I know you? S-sorry, I'm really forgetful, and I just- Oh no, I probably sound so rude right now, don't I? I'm so sorry-"
"N-no, sorry, I... I thought you were someone else." I smiled at her and fought back tears.I jumped when I felt a firm hand clamp onto my shoulder. A deer girl with jet black tips and a broken antler stepped in front of me. Susie seemed to stiffen up around her. The deer girl leaned over to look me in the eye.
"Mind getting your dirty paws off of my girlfriend, punk?" she spat at me. I recognized her as Noelle by her voice. That's when it occurred to me how different they looked and were acting. I remembered about how everything I knew had been challenged just in the short morning. I broke free from her grasp and bolted for the door.
"HEY, WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING!?" She yelled after me. I just kept running.
