Chap. 24 (Last Day of Family Reunion)

Well, it's our last day here. I can't say I didn't have fun because I 100 percent did! We had decided to spend the last day home as a family because it was raining outside. 

Everyone was downstairs watching a movie name 'Ocean's 8' but Ekon and I were just laying down enjoying the a/c. Ekon of course was rubbing on my ass.

Ekon planted a kiss on my head and ask "What's on your mind?" 

"The fact that I'm leaving tomorrow," I say.

"You don't wanna leave so Early?" he asks.

"It's not that. It's just that I haven't resolved the conflict between me and my mom," I admit.

"We still have a couple hours before the day's over. You can still resolve the conflict," Ekon says.

"You're right. But I don't want to interrupt their movie."

"Well you can tell them when the movie's done. I watched the movie already so I'll go see how far it is until it's done," he say as he get up. I didn't even realize how warm he was making me feel until he got up. 

He came back 15 seconds later.

"They have about half an hour until the movie's done," he said.

The movie had finish so I went downstairs to see my mom. The rain had suddenly stopped too but the sky was still cloudy.

"Look who decided to come down," Abayomi said. I chuckled before saying "Mom, can I speak to you in private please?" 

She rolled her eyes before getting up.

We went out back.

"What?" she asked.

"I'm gonna ask you a few questions and I need you to be fully honest with me," I say. 

"Hmmm."

"Do you hate me?"

"Ughhhh! Not this topic again-"

"Mom just answer the question!"

"Maybe. I don't know. Yes," she came to a conclusion.

I had felt this way since I was 10 so this didn't hit me in a harsh way. 

"Why?"

"That's not your business," she said as she walked off.

I couldn't take it anymore. 

"MOM!!!! IT'S MY LAST DAY HERE AND YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHY YOU HATE THIS MUCH! I'M NOT LEAVING UNTIL YOU GIVE ME AN ANSWER!" I yell catching everyone's attention.

I felt a hard sting to my face from my mother. She had slap me. "You don't raise your God damn voice at me! You go learn to respect me. You've never respected me but that shit stops. As a matter of fact, the rain has stop so leave! NOW!!! You sorry excuse for a daughter. I regret having you!" she yelled at me hurting my feelings.

She didn't had to tell me to leave twice. I ran upstairs and told everyone to get their luggage. We had pack from last night so everything was already in our suitcase.

We had booked the flight for tomorrow morning but I knew Ekon has some link that can get us home by tomorrow.

Ekon had arranged something and we were driving home now. The plane had land a few minutes ago. The car was dead silent! Ekon rubbed my thigh as he drive. 

"Honey!" Ekon called to me.

I tuned my head and say "What?" 

"You're bleeding!" he yelled. 

I looked down and my white joggers were wet and red. I immediately started panicking. Ekon gassed of immediately to the hospital. 

"Not again!" he yelled as he hit the staring wheel angrily. Lyryc and Mahlia had started to panic too.

"The baby is completely okay," the doctor say causing all the tension in Ekon face to leave.

"Oh thank God!" he yelled.

"You were just bleeding due to some stress. You need to rest and release all this stress. It's too much for the baby. I advice you take a week off from work," he says. 

That's the last thing I wanted to do to my students because they had exams and needed me now.

"Thank you doctor," I say.

"No problem. Just doing my job," he said before leaving the room. He also gave me a letter and some pills for stress release.

"I thought we lost this one too," Ekon said. His eyes were red from crying.

The kids came in and hugged me, even Mahlia who had a hard time accepting me.
