The day I've been waiting for my entire life was finally here, GRADUATION!!! I flat-ironed my hair and got dressed in a royal blue dress.
I was graduating as a pregnant teenager AND valedictorian of my school. My parents couldn't be more happier.

I was sitting on stage with the other graduates as my principal gave a long boring speech. Chrys was right next to me and hold my hand in his.
"We made it bay girl," he whispered in my ear making me smile. We were planning on getting married 3 week after the graduation and moving to the Bahamas for our honeymoon.
"We will now call on the valedictorian, Lyryc MacMillan to give us a few words. Give it up for her folks!!" my principal said.
I was nervous as shit but I pushed my nervousness away and went up.
"Good morning," I started off. They replied.
"My name is Lyryc MacMillan and becoming valedictorian wasn't exactly easy. First and foremost I want to thank God for everything. Secondly, I want to thank my parents for their love and support in everything. Thirdly, I want to thank my fiancé and husband for always being there for me even when I wasn't in my best shape. Lastly, my friends for their support as well and guidance. You see, becoming valedictorian was always my dream ever since I was a child. No mean to boast but I've always been the top of my class and saw becoming the valedictorian as a piece of cake but then I made a mistake and got pregnant. Everything started to fall apart. I got bullied at school and my grades started to slip. Getting back on top of my game wasn't easy, especially while carrying a baby. The baby's father later perused in finding his future job. I envied him and hated this baby. I hated the baby because to me it was holding me from moving forward and I envied my fiancé because he was pursuing his dreams before me. I later overcome the hate and enviousness to focus on becoming the best again and here I stand before you as valedictorian. So I just want to give a piece of advice to the younger children here today. Don't let your mistakes hold you back in life. We're only human and we make mistakes. Overcome those mistakes so you can one day look back at them and say 'I overcame you'. Thank you for having me," I say as I stepped down.
Everyone started cheering and clapping. Chrys kissed me and said "Well down baby!"
