Fighting Liliana

Chapter Twelve

I woke up in the morning with the worst headache ever. I look around my room and all of the memories of last night start to come to my head. My eyes grow wide and I look next to me to see a sleeping Parker. My cheeks turn red when I start to realize that I had sex with Parker last night. "Good for you, Lil.", I say to myself and get up to go brush my teeth.

When I'm done, I wash my face and walk back into my room. I see that Parker's no longer in bed, so I walk out of my room, past my guest bedroom and into the living room to see Parker sitting on my couch eating cereal and watching some cartoon. "This is the cutest thing I've ever seen in my entire life, oh my goodness.", I say laughing at him.

"Hey, there was nothing else on.", he tries to convince me. "Sure, sure.", I reply. "Hey Parker, hey Lil.", Scott says walking into the kitchen. "Good morning!", I say to him and give him a hug. "What the hell", he says staring at me. "What?", I ask. "Charlie, come here!", he yells into the guest bedroom. "What? It's too early to be this loud.", my brother states. "Liliana just hugged me and told me it was a good morning." , Scott tells him.

"What the hell", Charlie says looking at me. "That's what I said!", Scott replies. "Wait, why is this such a big deal?", I ask. "Because you aren't a morning person at all." , Parker steps in. "Exactly, so what's the good mood about?", Scott asked me. "Hey, guys!", Cierra says while she and Gigi walk in. "Saved by the besties.", Parker mumbles. I shoot a death glare at him and he laughs. "What's up?", Gigi asks.

"Trying to figure out why your best friend is in such a great mood.", Charlie says. Gigi looks at me then looks at Parker. "Oh my goodness. They had sex.", she says. I drop my cereal and start coughing. "Yup, they did.", she confirms. "Ew, gross", my brother says while everyone else cheers. "Lil, come here.", Cierra says pulling me and Gigi into my bedroom. "Are you okay with what happened?", Gigi asks.

"Yes, I'm fine. I wanted to. Parker was too scared to even touch me at first.", I tell them. "Okay, well then that's great!", Cierra yells. I laugh at my best friends excitement and we walk back into the living room with everyone else. There's a knock on my door and I tell Gigi to open it. "Liliana, there's another hot guy at your door. Parker might be mad.", she yells.

I give Parker a weird look, and he stares at me with a "she better be joking" look. Parkers friend Nathan walks into my apartment and he waves at us. "Giovanna, that's Parker's roommate.", I say laughing at her. "Hey man, what's up?", Parker asks while doing the bro shake with his friend. "I came to show you and Lil something. He hands me his phone and I press play on the video he has pulled up.

"Hello, Clearwater Rapids. As I do every week, I would like to go over the outcome of some of the sporting events that took place last night. The men and women of Clearwater Rapids University both brought home the win for their school in the basketball tournaments that took place yesterday. The girls were down by 20 at halftime and won the game with an epic and historic comeback. I'd like to also bring attention to the boxing event that was held at Clearwater Rapids arena 2 yesterday. We all know that Mya Bridges is usually the winner because of how tough and dominating she is, but I can't help but notice the new boxer to the scene. Liliana Johnson is 20 years old and from our very own Clearwater Rapids. She put up a hell of a fight with Bridges yesterday and could have even beaten her if her coach Parker Davidson didn't throw the towel in. She continued to push through the fight even with a broken nose and blood all over her. I want you guys to mark my words. This girl is going to be the next best boxer from Clearwater Rapids.", the Clearwater Rapids sportscaster finishes.

I scream and hug both Parker and Nathan. "Congrats Lil!", my brother hugs me and everyone joins in. "That was amazing.", I say smiling at Parker. "You're amazing.", he smiles back. "We should go celebrate tonight!", Scott says. Everyone agrees and we all go our separate ways. Gigi and Cierra go back to their places to get some clothes and makeup so they get ready here with me. Parker goes to work and Scott and Charlie go shopping for clubbing outfits.

I don't know what to do with myself, so I walk out of my apartment and get in my car to go to my favorite brunch place. I walk in and the cashier greets me. "Hi, how may I help you today?", she asks me. "Hi, can I have French toast, and eggs to go please.", I ask politely. "Of course.", she says. "Hey, you're Liliana Johnson aren't you?", she asks me. I snap my head up and I nod my head.

"Sorry this must be so weird, I'm Jackie. I heard about you on our school's radio station today.", she quickly says. "Oh, Jackie! You're in my Psych class aren't you?", I ask her. "Yes, I am!", she exclaims. "It's nice to see you again.", I smile at her. "It's nice to see you too, here's your food.", she hands it to me and I thank her. I start walking out of the door and she stops me. "Hey, Liliana!", she yells. "Yes?", I say confused.

"Would you ever want to hang out sometime. I don't have many friends.", she asks quietly. "Yes of course, here's my number. Text me!", I smile at her and give her my number. When I get into my car, my phone starts to ring. I get it out of my pocket and see that it's Scott. "Hey, Scotty boy.", I say answering the phone. "Hey, love! Where are you?", he asks me. "I'm leaving General Breakfast!", I say. "Okay meet me home. I have some dresses for you to wear to the club.", he says to me. "Eww, oh my goodness. No, I refuse.", I say quickly.

He hangs up and I let out a groan, then drove back home. I walk in my apartment and see Charlie and Scott rummaging through my clothes. "Umm, hi. Can I help you guys find something?", I ask them annoyed. "You literally have no clubbing clothes.", Charlie yells. "Define clubbing clothes.", I say. "Dresses.", Scott says and pulls me into their room and I see a bunch of bags. "Oh, you two have lost it.", I say staring at all of the dresses. "Try this one on.", Charlie says handing me a sleeveless black dress with no designs on it.

I put it on and I actually like it. It isn't super girly, but it's dressy enough for a club. "You look gorgeous Lil!", Scott says pulling me in front of a mirror. "She sure does.", I turn around and see Parker standing in the doorway. I smile at him and turn around to look back in the mirror. All of the thoughts of Josh telling me I was ugly and worthless comes back in my mind. "Maybe I shouldn't go out with you guys.", I say tearing up.

I hear Parker whisper something to my brother and Scott. They walk out of the room and he comes up behind me and turns me around. "Liliana Johnson. You are beautiful.", he says. "How did you know I was feeling bad about myself?", I ask him. "I know you.", he smiles. "What are you wearing to the club tonight?", I ask Parker. "I am wearing –", he starts before being interrupted by my brother. "We have his outfit too!", Charlie yells. I start laughing and look at Parker. "Welcome to my world.", I say.

Parker laughs and goes to try on whatever outfits picked out my brother and Scott. I walk into my bathroom by myself and I start thinking. Parker has changed my life so much that I had almost forgotten about the whole Josh thing. I sit down on the bathroom floor and I start crying. I'm starting to fall hard for my boyfriend. The truth is, I'm scared of falling in love again. I truly loved Josh. Talk about someone building you up and breaking you down all in one relationship.

I turn my shower on, so no one hears me crying. I grab my phone and hit shuffle on my music. My dad's favorite song "The Boys of Summer" by Don Henley starts blasting through my speaker and I start smiling. "Hi dad", I whisper. I get in the shower, so I can quickly wash and get ready for tonight. Once I'm done, I hear yelling coming from my living room. I go grab a towel and run into the living room to see what's going on.
