Gifted Children

Chapter 1

School was not fun. At least not for Isabelle. But it wasn't like she didn't get the classes, she had straight A's, her and her friends just got in trouble. A lot. They messed around all the time, and when they weren't running around in the halls, they just talked and talked. Today was no different.

 "IZZY!" Colin screamed from across the hall.

"What?" Isabelle, whose nickname in her friend group was Izzy, said confused.

"CAAATCH" Colin screamed again, ready to throw a Gatorade through the cramped hallway.

"WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, COLIN NO"

"TOO LATE" Colin yelled once more as he hurtled the bottle across the hall. Unfortunately, Colin ended up throwing it too far, and it crashed against the glass trophy case, cracking the glass. 

"Colin." Isabelle said quietly with wide eyes.

"What?" Colin asked, obviously terrified of what he just did.

"RUN!" she shouted as she saw their principal turn the corner.

They ran, laughing the whole way as they went to their favorite hangout, the MUK. The MUK was a huge tree house in Isabelle's backyard. They knew they had to have a group meeting, so they texted all their friends.

Isabelle: GUYS. We need to meet up at the MUK.

Jake: What? We still have half an hour of school! We could get caught. 

Colin: Who cares? 30 mins isn't anything! You have study hall anyway!

Stella: I'll be there

Nick: Are you sure? I'm on Jake's side.

Zack: Are you kidding? I'm on my way.

Jack: Yeah. I'll come with Zack.

All the friends were in the same class, and without each other they probably wouldn't have made it through high school. Isabelle was the one who started the friend group, along with Colin. Jake was the worrier of the group, always second-guessing plans no matter how simple they were. Stella was the kind one, always sparing what she thought for someone else's feelings. Nick was the cool guy, the person who was friends with EVERYONE else in school. Zack and Jack were twin brothers, and the group was the only one able to tell them apart.

Everyone ended up coming, even Jake and Nick. 

"Alright guys, Colin and I have called this meeting because Colin made a huge ass mistake." Isabelle explained to the group.

"What did he do?" Nick asked, already slightly laughing since he knew it had be bad for Isabelle and Colin to have to leave early.

"Well, Izzy and I were messing around in the halls, and I may have thrown my Gatorade a little too hard and broken the glass trophy case," Colin said quickly as if that would make the group less taken aback by what he said.

Jake yelled, "YOU DID WHAT" as Nick was laughing his ass off.

"How did you guys not get in trouble?" Stella asked, almost as completely dumbfounded as Jake.

"Well, we may have sprinted out before Principal Mess was able to catch us." Isabelle explained.

"And that's why we left early," Nick said, basically just talking to himself.

"What did you even need us to do?" asked Jack.

"Oh, we just wanted to go to Walmart with you guys."

"Seriously?" Zack said with a sigh.

"Yup. Come on! Let's go!" Colin said excitedly
