They were all having the time of their lives as they drove to the house. It was like nothing was different between the group of friends. Then, Jake saw something.
"Wait, wait, wait, what is that on top of that building?" Jake asked the group.
It looked as though there was a person with a hood was standing on top of the building that they were driving by.
"Whoa, how did he get up there?" Zack asked.
"Do you think he's one of us?" Jack thought out loud.
All of the sudden, he jumped, but instead of falling he flew. But he was flying right at the car. The group started to panic.
"Not one of us, NOT ONE OF US!" Isabelle yelled.
"Step on it, Nick!" Stella said.
Nick did as Stella told him, and started speeding down the road. All of the sudden Isabelle heard an unfamiliar voice, and so did the rest of them.
"Stop. I'm one of you." the unfamiliar voice.
"I think that was the person outside of the car," Nick said.
"I don't know, I don't think he's safe," Isabelle told him.
"Trust me," the voice said again.
"Come on, he could know what happened," Nick told the group as he slowed down.
The person walked up to the car, and everyone could tell Isabelle was getting jumpy. Nick got out of the car, and everyone followed suit. Isabelle stood by Nick, but even though she was by him she felt nervous.
"Hey. Trust me," Nick whispered to Izzy.
Even though Isabelle didn't know what to think, she nodded.
The person with the hood on walked up to them.
"Who are you? Why did you come at our car?" Isabelle questioned the figure that was standing in front of them.
"Jeez, for a pretty girl you do ask a lot of questions," the person joked.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Isabelle asked angrily.
"Hey, calm down. It was just a joke. So, are you the people who made that explosion on the road?" He asked.
"Why do you need to know?" Zack spoke up.
"Because I think I can help you."
"How?" Jack asked.
"Well, did you hear me say 'trust me' when I was outside of the car?" he questioned the group.
They all nodded in response to the question.
"I wasn't actually speaking. You guys heard what I was thinking," he explained to them.
"How is that possible?" Nick asked the man.
"I was exposed the same thing you guys were. It makes us able to communicate without speaking."
"What's your name?" Isabelle asked him, still weary of his presence.
"We shouldn't talk anymore without being somewhere private," he told the group.
"No. We need to know your name before we take you in our vehicle," Isabelle said defensively.
"Yeah. I actually agree with Isabelle on that one," Stella said.
"Alright, alright. My name is Markus. Markus Abernathy. Now we need to go somewhere private."
With that they got in the car and drove to Nick's house, Isabelle still apprehensive of the man sitting behind her.
"Why don't you take your hood off? We haven't exactly seen your face since you talked to us," Colin asked Markus.
They weren't prepared for the face that was under that hood.
