I'd change the last words my father ever said to me.
"I'm disappointed in you, Bucky. You really let me down here."
I broke a promise, the promise I made to him... the promise that I'd stop fighting.
He said to go to my room and that we'd talk about it when he got home. Then he left for maneuvers.
I sat there on my bed, thinking about what I'd say, all the chores I would agree to do, the new promises I'd make so he'd never, ever have to be disappointed in me ever again.
But Dad never came home from maneuvers.
After that, things went downhill for a while... *sighs* But that's a story for a different time.
