I arrived at Falcone Borsellino Airport in Cinisi Palermo, Italy at 4 in the afternoon. As I stepped out of the airport, my jaw dropped. The streets, the people, the buildings, the water, everything an everyone around me was beautiful!!! Ugh, why haven't I came here before! I traveled almost everywhere with my mom every summer! We went to Mexico, of course, Hawaii, France, Japan, Nicaragua, and England, but mom has never brought up going to Italy!!! But why would she hide the fact that my father was from here? It just didn't make any sense.
I took the necklace from under my shirt and examined the crest. Hopefully, this will protect me while I'm in Italy too? I hid it back under and began to wave for a taxi.
Once the taxi stopped a few feet in front of me, I quickly ran to it dragging my luggage and sack with me to claim it.
"Ciao! Dove siete diretti?" the driver asked. He looked like he was in his early 40's with a brown mustache and was wear a hat and a sweater, which I didn't understand, because it was 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
"I'm sorry, I don't speak Italian," I answered him with a weak smile.
"Oh, where are you headed?" he asked with his accent and smiled.
"Can you please bring me to your nearest nice hotel?" I asked.
"Of course!" he said cheerfully and started to drive.
We arrived at Hotel Columbia Palermo, in half an hour. I took my stuff, I paid him and said goodbye, before making my way into the nice hotel. I looked around to see a good amount of people talking and laughing in the front. I smiled as I passed by and made my way inside to check in.
Once I checked in and got my key, I made my way to my room. Once I made it inside, my smile grew wide.
It was a good sized room with beautiful white tile floors, light orange/custard curtains and cream bed sheets with light brown furniture.
"Nice," I said to myself as I set my luggage near the closet along with my Nike sack and jumped into bed. It was now 5:23 and I was exhausted. I have a long day tomorrow, because I needed to travel two hours to get from here to Sicily.
"I'm going to visit your home, Dad," I said to myself before I fell asleep.
I opened my eyes slowly to the dark room. What the hell? I say up to look at the alarm cock beside me. It read 4:12 A.M.
"You've gotta be kidding me...?" I said to myself as I rubbed my face annoyingly.
Once I wake up, I can't go back to sleep so I decided to take a hot bath.
I went outta bed, took my silk robe and headed for the bathroom. I placed my robe on the counter near the sink before getting the hot water running.
As I waited for the water to rise, I went back to the room and grabbed my phone and headphones. Walking back into the bathroom, I put my headphones in and played, "Limbo Limbo Limo" by Jhené Aiko on repeat.
I quickly tie my hair up in a messy bun followed by stripping out of my clothes and pouring the mini hotel body oils in the water. Once it reached it's peak, I shut it off and got in, putting my phone on the side of the bath tub.
