"Earth." I stared at him, dumbfounded. "What do you mean?"

"I'm Earth, as you are Air." He stated. "Except I am not as special to my clan as you are to yours." He took my hand in his.

"So, you have powers and stuff too?" I said my thoughts floating around my brain.

"Yes."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Why didn't you tell me Ella?" He countered.

"I wasn't allowed to."

"There's your answer."

"But you knew I had powers. Why didn't you tell me you did?"

"In case you killed me." He bluntly spoke.

"Why would I have killed you?"

"We're mortal enemies."

"Then why didn't you kill me?" I quizzed.

"Because, Ella." He paused for what seemed an eternity. He looked up, straight into my eyes. "I think, I'm falling in love with you."

I stared into his vibrant green eyes, as I stared, I saw them glow with a brown intensity captivating my heart. I had no reply. I didn't know how I felt about him. So I pulled him closer, and kissed him. It was slow and tender at first, then he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me towards him tightening our embrace. I felt the strong pounding of his heart against his chest, the warmth of his skin against mine. I parted my lips and tasted the sweetness of our kiss, yearning for more. His tongue gently caressed my bottom lip as our bodies twined together. His grip on my back tightened as I gently nipped his lip. He pulled away first, staring into my eyes. He tenderly brushed a hair behind my ear and smiled radiantly at me. I felt my heart rate decrease slowly as I thought about my feelings. I was somewhere close to being in love. Well, what I presumed love was.

"Ash, I think I might be falling in love with you too." I softly kissed his lips for a second and moved away. "What do we do?" I asked him quietly.

"I don't understand." He frowned.

My eyes fell down, "Surely this is against every clan code?"

He lifted my chin with his fingers, "Not if I become you're ally."

"You'd do that, for me?" I asked, feeling my chest fill with warmth.

"I would do anything for you Ella."

I threw my arms around him and squeezed tightly. "That means so much to me." I let go and hopped off the bed. "I need to speak to Charlie." He nodded and I waltzed down the stairs.

I found Charlie sat on one of the sofas in the basement. He was nursing what looked to be a cold cup of coffee, black marks hung from his eyes contrasting against his pale complexion. "Charlie, are you alright?"

"You're up?" He asked.

"Yeah." I replied. "Have you slept at all?"

"I had to make sure you were alright." He ran his fingers through his hair.

"You didn't have to stay awake all this time though! Come on. You need to get to bed and have some sleep." I pulled his hand and he rose to his feet. I walked with him up the stairs and into his room. "Ash said he'd become an ally." I told him as he sat down on his bed.

"He means it?"

"Yeah, I think so." I smiled, remembering the conversation I'd had with him in the bedroom next door.
