Brian's pov:
"Look at the cute little boy staring right at meeee! He's so cute yes he isss!" I cooed looking into the little carrier my new baby boy was in.

He looked up at me curiously with his bright blues sparkling in the light. It's hard to get this boy to smile or even giggle I'll tell you that.

I didn't wanna hold him yet since I wanted Trixie to be the first to, she's been so excited about having him that it's only fair that she's the first to hold him.

Sadly I heard about what happened after she passed out, her body failed on her and didn't have enough energy to keep going, so everything shut down. It hurt me to hear all of that happen to my dear Trixie, but soon she would be ok in a few weeks. But that didn't stop the heartache.

"Cmon...gimme a little smile...for meeee? Daddy needs a smileeee" I held my finger out and he softly took it in his small hand. I smiled watching him stare at it before he took it in his mouth and started sucking on it.

"This is the closest I'm gonna get huh" I laughed lightly as the door opened and I saw my mom walk in holding Katya smiling.

"Hi honey, how are you holding up?" I took my finger away and replaced it with a pacifier for him before taking Katya and holding her close to me.

"I'm alright...I mean my anxiety has calmed down...but it's just not the same without Trixie by my side...." I sighed softly kissing Katyas cheek, guess she could tell I was sad since she hugged me tighter.

"I know honey...it's rough and I get it...but I'm sure soon she'll be alright...and you both can be happy with your new baby..." she smiled looking over at the carrier, where he was rubbing his eyes looking tired, guess it's nap time.

"Yeah...also how do I get a baby to smile? He won't give me anything" I chuckled softly bouncing Katya. My mom rolled her eyes at me as she put Katyas baby bag down.

"Well there's many ways you can get a baby to smile, just don't try too hard and be genuine" Well fuck I didn't think about that. I made an 'oh yeah' face as my mom laughed.

"Forgot about that...hopefully I can get him to at least give me a soft smile" I laughed and sat down letting Katya sit in my lap happily.

"I'm sure he will sweetie...now I have to get going, I'll see you later ok?" I nodded and smiled feeling her kiss my cheek before leaving. The room was back to silence other then the other machines making a bit of noise.

I looked over sadly at Trixie, it was like she was barely there, yet she looked so peaceful. She didn't deserve any of this, and I kinda feel like it was my fault. I took my chair and put it next to the bed sitting down before softly taking her hand and kissing the top of it.

"I miss you a lot...it's hard without you here...I miss your smile...and your love...come back soon baby...I need you more then ever..." I whispered holding back tears. Im hoping that she could hear me, and know that i miss her. And all I want right now is a sign.

I looked over at the small carrier for a second before an idea popped into my head. I carefully put Katya in her own carrier before walking over and taking my little baby boy out. He fell right back asleep after my mom left, and he looked just as peaceful as Trixie does when she's asleep.

I walked back over to Trixie and softly laid him on her chest and put her hand on his back. I smiled sitting back down and looking at the both of them, it felt right to me, just to let him feel his mother's touch for the first time.

I turned to grab Katya out of her carrier and put her back on my lap. She smiled up at me sucking on her red pacifier in her little light pink kitty onesie. I kissed her cheek and smiled more listening to her squeal.

"I'm gonna paint the Russian flag symbol on that pacifier one day I tell you...ya got Russian blood and I want everyone to know..." she giggled and hugged my hand looking at me cutely.

"D-da!" She excitedly let out slightly bouncing. I kissed her cheek again proudly, already knowing the Russian language just by listening to me.

"That's right baby... ya lyublyu tebya moya printsessa..." I smiled looking into her bright striking green eyes and watching her smile grow more. I looked over back at Trixie and was kinda shocked at what I saw.

Snuggling into Trixie more, my little baby boy was smiling as he peacefully slept more. The first time I've ever seen him smile, and he was under Trixies touch. It melted my heart seeing that all it took to be happy was just to be held by his mother.

I silently took a picture of it not knowing if he would stop smiling or not before just sitting back and watching. I guess it really didn't take much to make him smile, my mom was right.

Even though Trixie isn't really here, she still is managing to make everyone happy. And it makes me even happier to know that she's gonna be ok, and I believe my sign that says it all is that little smile from my baby boy...
