Confession of two hearts.

Neil ran behind her, closing the door while entering. Avni was sitting, panting in anger, with that cute pout on her face.

"Baby atleast listen to me." Neil requested sitting in front of her. She turned her face away.

"Arey had hoti hai. I should have been angry with you for behaving that ways and instead you are. I forgave you because you are haunted by your past. You are seriously not understanding what I'm feeling?" He asked politely, holding her chin, making her look in his eyes.

"Samajh Rahi hun Neil. That's what I came to talk about so that you stop feeling that stuff. You're lying.", She replied, hugging him firmly.

"Tell me,
You helped me overcome my past over Juhi. I forgot her to such an extent that when she came, I wasn't hesitant even once to choose you over her." Neil said. "You chose her." Avni said scoffing. "You left me alone at Dargah. You misbehaved with me in front of your colleagues." She reminded him. "I..I know. I was in an emotional trauma. I..I regret that but then it was alright. I wasn't even bothered when Juhi was killed. When her presence was threatening your survival. I asked her to leave immediately. Although you became a DevDas and asked her to stay. You've helped me so much Avni." Neil said.

"And then look at me. What have I ever done except for giving you pain and agony?I don't give any gifts to you. No surprises. We haven't celebrated any festivals together. No special days. Anniversary wale din we got separated. No special events. Nothing. No valentine's day kuch nahi. On your birthday the previous year, I asked you to get out of my house after you just celebrated your win over Dayawanti, then I accused you of being in a relationship with Ali, even on our honeymoon, I agreed to go because I was selfish. I had work. I knew the longing you had to spend time with me but me, I went to my work leaving you alone even when you were ill. Then, I left you again to suffer with all the humiliation that my family members taunted you with. They hurt you so much, I wasn't there to protect you.
And then Juhi.
When I realised my love for you, Juhi came.
I didn't confess.
You proposed me, I bombarded you with a fact that I have a daughter.
It was you who made by birthday special.
All the agony I sent you to Jail.

Then again on your birthday, I asked you to get out. I raised hand on you, c...called you characterless, reminded you of your family, was ready to give you a divorce.

It was always you who did everything to me. I gave nothing except pain Avni."
Neil said, pouring his heart out to her. The burden he'd been carrying from their marriage day, was released today. He wiped his tears messily.

He couldn't match his eyes with hers. He didn't know what she was going through after listening to all this.

"You want to know what all you've given me?" She asked politely, taking his hand in her.

"Everything." She whispered.

"Whatever I dreamt, whatever I desired, whatever I fought for, you have fulfilled them selflessly. Family. Love. Brother. Father. Mother. Daadi. Bua. Everything. You know ignore the fact that I was a topper. Your Avni has failed in many subjects." She said sadly.

"Don't lie. I've seen the reportcards lying in the cupboard." He said.

"Your Avni has failed in Family, understanding it, living with it, defining it. Brother, having one, playing with one, that corners and edges. If anyone asks me what is a brother, I'd answer someone who tries to take my life, someone who makes an attempts to sell me and make me a prostitute, someone who betrays me. And the society doesn't accept this definition. Father, I'd be like.. Someone who doesn't support you. Someone who gives fake promises to accompany me to the annual day. Someone who doesn't attend the PTMs. Someone who leaves me and my mom to rot by the hands of everyone. Someone who blames me for my own mother's death. Someone for whom I'm a mistake, a sin. The society won't accept this definition. Daadi. Who shoots me on the heart to death. Bua who keeps me rotten in the cupboard. Chachu who threatens my mother. Sister who snatches my happiness, hates me. This is what I've learnt. And this is a wrong learning. Everyone say this is wrong. But no one dared to teach me what was right. And who did it. You. It was you who told me the correct definitions. And you're asking what have you done? I was living like hell Neil. You made me realise that life is beautiful. You made me realise that there was more world except for revenge, hatred, anger, sadness, pain, agony, fear. This is what you have done. You were the one who helped me pass in these subjects."

She said wiping his tears. There were none in her eyes although her voice did choke at some point.

"There was still something I could have done for you." Neil whispered, kissing her hand.

"Tell me what do you think you could have done but you didn't?" She asked, with utmost respect for the man sitting in front of her. The man who trusted her beyond doubting levels, the man who loved her to an endless limitations, the man who's selfless for her in the dusk of everything and the man, who holds her in the dawn of annew adventure.

"I could have made you so happy that you forgot your past. Our relationship could have been a lot more better with my decisions." He replied.

This was what was stabbing him.

"Look at me." She said and he did.

"Do I look broken, sad, in pain. Tell me? Did I ever complain on silly things like gifts?" She asked.

"Avni, I... I'll rename the past of our relationship. I'll change it so that we don't face the consequences we unwillingly did through this. Instead of fights and wrong choices, I'll make it a beautiful history that shapes our present and future. But you need to support me. You need to follow whatever I say. Promise?" Neil asked.

"We can't delete the folder of our past." She reminded him.

"I know. But we can always rename it." Neil replied.

"A new step to improve our relationship?" He asked, while she gave her approval by hugging him and letting her exhaustion go away in his arms.
