Chapter 28 – Couldn't be broken by anything

I had a mate...

It was clear now like somebody had blown away a hazy fog. I remembered everything, or I thought I did.

I remembered Cody, my true parents, Riley, everyone and it hurt so much to have to remain emotionless around my parents.

I knew Cody was tearing the world apart to find me, I could feel the anger through our bond but I couldn't reach out to him, it didn't add up. I felt dazed, almost as if there was a screen between us but I couldn't pinpoint the feeling.

The dream still puzzled me, I was never able to see the woman just her voice and flashes of what she saw. I managed to decipher that she was the moon goddess and after years of being alone she jumped thinking she would be able to return but was instead lost in time.

The goddess was responsible for all acts of love, she made soulmates but because she leapt she lost control over her powers and slowly forgot about them. There was one thing she had never foreseen and it was her mate, she shouldn't have had one but her powers, though she didn't know about them, were still working.

I didn't really understand it all except for the fact that she walked this earth not knowing her true identity. I hadn't had another dream and neither Chloe or Sammie could speak to me much because my parents had become a little wary.

It had been just over four months since I had been taken while trying to do a deal with my parents. I had been so emotionless and had no memories that most of it I couldn't remember.

I wasn't spending another week here but I needed to know how to get back to Cody and also get the girls out.

I finished breakfast, my eyes remaining on the empty plate. The food was still spiked but my wolf had grown an immunity to it, it took a while of eating small bits of the near-invisible powder but I had overcome it.

"Darling we must find you a male soon, as the future leader it's necessary." My mother spoke, yet again I was never addressed by my name. It wasn't only that though, they never acknowledged I have a brother, or how they've taken me from my mate against my will.

I clenched my fists to stop myself from doing something stupid, My heart was beating fast and my blood boiled, I hated my father, he had brainwashed my mother too but she was his mate and couldn't be brought back. He stole everything from me.

"Yes, I know some lovely-" My father started and I lost it, Hailey was so mad I had to fight control over her, my whole body was shaking. I was losing it in a fit of rage, I ran without thinking, I needed to be as far away from them as possible.

I was outside in moments, the cool air calming me slightly. Hailey was growling in anger and I was still shaking trying to keep control. My parents had hidden Hailey from me, I knew I was a wolf my I couldn't talk to her and now having her back it was even harder.

"Sweetie, what is wrong?" My mother's angelic voice asked from behind me and I scrunched my eyes shut in an attempt to block her out. I could feel them there, it was like all my senses narrowed on them, I felt powerful and it scared me.

I turned so slowly, I had a cruel smile on my face, Hailey was in as much control as me, I had never felt like this before. I noticed people stopping around us, my anger was rising and as I met my fathers eyes his face went pale.

"I know what you're trying to achieve and I will stop at nothing to kill you." We spoke as one, the unfamiliar words rolling off my tongue, I sounded different, colder. I felt his presence then, he was close and I was pulling him towards me subconsciously.

"Listen to me, you will come inside-" My father said stepping towards me, he remained strong, he spoke harshly and it only made it worse as Hailey slipped into control more and I let her obligingly.

"You will not tell me what to do." She spoke so loudly it boomed, a growl ripping out of her ferociously, my father went white and I could have sworn my feet weren't even on the ground anymore.

"I am your father so you will do as I say." The man truly had a death wish. He was asking for it and I was now sure my feet had left the ground. I wasn't sure how but the power I was channelling was old, ancient, stronger than anything I had ever felt before.

"You are not my father." I hissed, Hailey, giving me back control. The power was thrumming in my blood, I let out a harsh roar as my feet slammed back into the ground.

People gasped around me, some burst into tears and others looked broken. I felt it, the severing of mate bonds, I wasn't sure how it had been done but my anger had broken the most powerful bond known to man.

A growl ripped through the whole area as I turned so fast I got whiplash. People fled instantly, my father ran leaving my mother behind in her emotionless state. I had broken theirs too and I worried for a moment it was going to kill her but she turned tail and ran not seconds later.

Across the distance, he was so far away yet so close, I met his eyes. Black, darker than midnight met electric blue eyes. My eyes of ice flame, his of darkness, a perfect pair.

I sank to the floor, my knees hitting the soft dirt and I covered my hands in my face. The memories were stacking up and hitting me like bricks. I tumbled through time as many emotions hit me.

I was sobbing when hands cupped mine and I raised my head to meet his eyes. I gasped as I met them, one memory, centuries-old resurfaced. The first thing I had ever seen of this earth and the last thing I had ever seen of my true home.

A female, no me, falling like a shooting star towards the ground. I had hit and fallen into a deep sleep before waking over a hundred years later in oblivion thinking I was just a normal person.

I walked this earth in many different bodies but never felt human. Never once found love the way I had created it, never found a friendship that could last lifetimes. I walked time alone until I met a pureblood, the last of his kind.

I had once long ago made a race of pure blooded wolves, their human side just something for them to inhabit. Their true wolves were only unlocked upon finding their true mate but none ever did.

Many found love, found their mate but not their other half. I had fallen before I could predict that and while I walked the very ground they lived on I didn't have enough power to bless them a true mate.

Until I met one of my own, my blood made alive by his very existence causing me to create the most powerful of bonds. It couldn't be broken by anything, I had made it and even my power couldn't reach it.

Cody's lips met mine, conveying a thousand feelings and more. I needed to tell him, he needed to know where the sudden power, the true wolf power came from and who I was. I would never be able to return but being with him kept me at my fullest.

I was immortal, killed in past lives because I had no mate. He was too, each firstborn male of his bloodline was but it was never unlocked.

We had a long way to go yet but it was the start of a new era and I had time to walk it all with him.

It's my birthday!! Yay, I wanted to upload a chapter so I'm using this an excuse haha when in reality it's my birthday but I just felt like uploading.
