Chapter 2

Cordelia

Everyday I would wonder how certain things would turn out and how it would affect me as a person. I wonder sometimes if the people that I surround myself with would think something similar, or something different from me, and that is the question of the day that I wouldn't know the answer to.

Right now I'm in the cafeteria with Layla, Carly, Harden, and some of his friends; Jonah and Eli. Layla the most girly girl in our group, always wearing makeup, dresses, skirts, maybe once in a while some pants. Carla the quiet one in our group, but very outgoing, funny. I really don't know about Jonah that much but what i have seen so far that he is a really good guy to be around with. Eli also a pretty good guy, always trying to put a smile on everyone's face.

"You guys heard that Mr. Ruben is probably gonna get fired next month?" Jonah said.

I scoffed. "Serves him right, that's what happen when you sleep with a student here." And its true, rumors had it for a long time that Becky, a senior in the school, was sleeping with Mr. Ruben a science teacher. The funny thing was that they were actually getting at it in his classroom and the principal walked in on them. Ever since that day, the principal has been giving them hell.

Harden spoke up "Becky is a bitch anyways, Mr. Ruben is also one too. Perfect for each other" sarcasm laced in his tone. We all laughed. For the rest of the lunch period we all just talked and laughed, enjoying ourselves. The bell rang and we all grabbed our stuff and started heading our separate ways. Eli called after me "Hey Cordelia wait up!"

"Yeah what's up?" Eli whose one of Harden's friends is a nice guy, always around whenever he has the time because he is mostly in school and working all the time.

"I was wondering if you would love to go to the party with me on Friday" Eli rubbed his neck, as if he was shy.

"Like a date?"

"Yeah like a date, I could pick you up around 6pm and we could go eat before we meet up with anyone else".

I gave it a little thought, Eli is an amazing guy but he isn't for me. "I would love to go with you Eli, really, but I want to hang with the girls. Really need a girls night."

He looked at me with understanding in his eyes "Your right, well i guess I'll see you later". He gave me a quick hug before going to his class. Its been said that Eli has had a crush on me for a while and I sadly do not feel the same way. He is a good friend to everyone and I just didn't wanna do that to him and I knew soon he would find someone who will truly love him.

I got to my math class, and let me tell you something. I despise math, I'm not a math type of person. I'm more of a writer. When I entered the class, the teacher was already writing problems on the board. I looked around the classroom to see any empty seats. I spotted one empty seat and its in the back and next to the schools bad boy Luca. I started heading to my seat and the next thing I knew I was laying on the floor.

Everyone around me started laughing "Cordelia you should really watch where you are going" Luca said, while smirking.

"What is your--"

"Cordelia please take your seat so I could start my class" Mrs. Lee said.

"Yes ma'am."

I sat in my seat and took out my notebook and my pen from my bookbag . If only I could just rip Luca into--

"Psst. I think you should stop thinking about me" Luca whispered and smirked. I blushed when he figured that I was thinking about him, but not in the way he thinks.

"Well I cant help myself when you're just a selfish jerk who only loves himself" I whispered back harshly.

"Only for you darling" he winked at me.

Did he just wink at me!? Oh he will so regret that.

"Okay class today we are going to have a pop quiz." You can hear all the students groaning. The teacher started to give out all the papers and we all started working.

"Fuck, I don't know anything about math" Luca whispered to himself.

"Ill let you copy me" I said to Luca. What you don't know is I'm actually gonna get him in trouble.

"Gee, thanks". He leaned over and started copying my work. I raised my hand, and the teacher called me.

"Luca is copying my test."

The teacher looked at Luca and he stared at the teacher like a deer in head lights. "Mr Mariano, bring up your paper right now". Luca got up and looked at me with such hate. Serves him right. Once he got to the teacher, she took the paper and ripped it in half. "Now you can go to the office right this instant".

Everyone started laughing.

Yeah I know what you're thinking. That I'm a snitch, right? Well for a long time Luca and I have been at each others throats since middle school for some reason.  He always started drama with me and I tried to ignore him but i snapped one time and it was the last straw. I knew I needed to stand my own ground.
