Cheryl watched as Toni grabbed her purse, readjusted her dress, checked if she had her earrings on a sprayed perfume on for the last time before heading out. She had a cute white summer dress on that made her caramel skin pop and her hair was naturally down, letting her pink waves mix with the soft white, she looked stunning, she smelled stunning too.

"Okay so, I think I have everything, I'll be back in about three hours, wish me luck"

Toni let out a small smile but Cheryl could tell that she was nervous, she knew that it was her job to comfort her best friend, so she did

"Hey hey, it's going to be fine, i promise, don't worry"

She went over to the pink haired girl and hugged her tightly, making her feel as loved as possible, she knew that this was going to be complicated for both of them but she had to persevere

"Thanks Cher, you've always been such a great friend, I'll see you later, bye!"

Cheryl had to stop herself from sighing once again, she got put back on square one, she got lucky if she even got to square two before they would graduate, but she let her friend be. She watched as Toni walked out her front door and climbed on her motorcycle, ten times bigger than her, and speed off to meet Veronica, it sent an ache through her entire heart but she was used to it, now, she had to play the waiting game.

***

Toni felt the strong breeze of wind hit against her body, her dress was barely any coverage and she could feel her small body hair spike up due to how cold she was, she had thought about bringing a jacket but she pretty much gave up on the idea five minutes before leaving. She was about two minutes away from the well-known coffee shop, she had no clue what to expect, this was her first date after the breakup, let alone with a girl, she felt butterflies in her stomach, butterflies that she had never felt when she was with Reggie, it was new but it felt good, it felt...right

After a few more minutes of speeding, Toni pulled up in front of the small, vintage coffee shop, she steadily parked her bike nearby and anxiously walked toward the entrance. As she pushed the door open, she immediately felt her heart speed up, her head looked all ways, trying to find Veronica. She couldn't spot her and started to worry, she knew it, she wasn't good enough, she was being made fun of and-

The girl's thoughts got cut off by the sighting of a raven-haired girl sitting alone, scrolling through her phone. It was her. Toni quickly headed towards the small cute table and dropped her bag on it instantly

"Hey you"

Toni spoke and grinned at the same time, showing off the cutest smile, making Veronica feel as comfortable as possible. The raven-haired girl jumped and dropped her phone on the table, making a startled face which turned into a big smile as soon as she looked up and saw her date

"Oh thank god, I was beginning to think you weren't going to come"

Toni laughed and scrunched up her nose, making a sarcastic face, it was already going great

"Of course I was going to come, I wouldn't miss out on our first..."

Her voice trailed off and she looked at Veronica, there was a small pause before they both said in unison

"date?"

Laughter poured out from both of their mouths and it eased the tension out, Toni sat down and they both ordered coffee and a muffin, the discussion was going great and they were both having loads of fun, as they went on and talked about funny memories, the elephant in the room was getting bigger, last night, that is...until Veronica finally asked the burning question

"So...last night um... I'm really sorry I kissed you, it was wrong and I shouldn't have done it, I feel terrible and-''

the girl was cut off by the laughter of her own date, Toni was smiling and laughing, making Veronica feel better instantly

"Hey don't worry, it's totally fine, I ended up going to Cheryl's house and I slept over, we talked about it and I felt much better, I' m not mad or anything, plus... I kind of enjoyed it"

Veronica gazed at Toni with glistening brown eyes as she heard Toni speak, it was the happiest she had been in a long time but something still bothered her, something that she had to get rid of, Cheryl

Something that everyone has to know about Veronica is that she is fearless, she has lived too many sufferings to not know how to fight for herself, she has absolutely no pity and will certainly not feel any for Cheryl

She nodded her head and spoke up

"mhm, so Cheryl huh? And how do you feel about, well you know, what she feels about you"

Toni looked puzzled and her eyes bulged, she couldn't believe what she had just heard as she saw Veronica look concerned, maybe even worried. Veronica was also an excellent actor.

"Wh-what feelings?"

Toni spoke slow and stuttered on her own words if Cheryl had feelings for her it would change their whole relationship and Toni couldn't afford to lose her, not Cheryl.

"Well I mean, everyone knows, Cheryl Blossom has feelings for you, always has since day one, that's probably why she wants to be your best friend and why she was happy when Reggie cheated on you, I thought you knew, maybe I shouldn't have said anything..."

Toni gasped and her puzzled look instantly replaced itself with the angriest face she had ever made, the pink-haired girl's jaw clenched and her fists crunched up, was this true?

"She...she was happy when Reggie broke up with me?"

Toni barely opened her mouth as she spoke, her teeth clenched together and her legs ready to move and head straight back to Cheryl's house

''Toni, I thought you knew, I mean I thought you guys were secretly going out"

That was it, Toni couldn't hear this anymore, she grabbed her purse, took out a couple of bills and got up, making a loud screeching sound with her chair

"Yeah um, I'm so sorry I have to go, we will for sure have a redo don't worry, text me!"

Veronica smirked as soon as Toni turned her back to head out, she did it, everything was falling into place for Veronica Lodge and she loved it, she watched with satisfaction as Toni sped out of the small shop and jumped on her motorbike, turning on the roaring engine making all heads turn, and quickly driving off to, that's right you guessed it, Cheryl Blossom's house
