Chapter 5
I've been meeting Aurora every night for the past week.
Between reading Alex's notes and the things Aurora has been telling me... I don't know how I'm supposed to feel, but one thing is for sure, I have been learning a lot about vampires. I've always hunted and killed vampires. My Intel has been just to locate the mark, this is the first time that I've spend so much time and effort with the actual mark.
On the one hand I have to keep reminding myself that she's a vampire, that I'm here to kill her... The contract has already been accepted... I already received an upfront payment, and if it wasn't for the fact that Robert was working on a plan of his own, and she has not slipped up on a single thing, giving me reason to just kill her point blank, I would have already killed her by now.
But I can't help but feel guilty and somewhat sorry for what she's been through, what she had to endure and overcome. Getting to know her is probably the last thing on earth that I should have done, the more time I'm spending with her, the harder it's going to be for me to kill her, because she seems to be a gentle and kind person, it's hard to believe she is even a vampire.
I've spent a lot of time with her over the past few days, with her brother and The General too, they all have the same believes as her, they all seem to be harmless. But I know better. Vampires are ruthless and cannot be trusted, and that's the part I try to keep focused on.
At some point one of them are going to slip up, and I'm going to be right there to end them when they do...
When I meet up with her it's at her chalet where's she's been living. It's not a very large place in comparison to some of the other places she's lived in, but what makes it unique is the fact that's its beachfront, which is why she chose it. She told me once that she loved the sound of the waves, the smell of the ocean and just watching the sun set and rise over the ocean.
I find it a bit suspicious that she invited me to where she lives. Up till now I've only met her at the club, knowing I'm a hunter and I'm contracted to kill her, she still invites me to her home. It's just a bit unnerving. I'm suspecting it's a trap of some kind so I go with my guard up, ready for any possible ambush she might have planned.
However, when she opens the door my jaw drops. She's wearing only a simple silver silk night dress, it's elegant but barely covers anything.
She's barefoot and her hair is loose and hanging down wildly. It's the first time I've seen her hair not neatly done up, she always looks like she's just stepped out from a salon or something, ready to walk the red carpet... But now she looks... Relaxed, like she's home with not a care in the world.
You'd think that this would make her look less attractive but on the contrary... I have to keep my emotions in check because I have a sudden urge to just grab her and make love to her.
As she turns and walk back in, I can't help but look at her ass, the dress barely covering, swaying as she walks, and I can't help but see if with one of the sway's it's going to lift up higher to reveal her cheeks. I close the door behind me and follow her into the lounge area.
She's always surrounded by her body guards, but now, oddly, there's no one in sight. We seem to be all alone. It's a bold move from her knowing I'm going to kill her. I can't help but wonder if she is deliberately trying to get killed.
Aurora: "Would you like something to drink?"
I look suspiciously at her as she walks over to a drinking cabinet and pulls out a Chrystal bottle containing what I suspect is bourbon.
Aurora: "Oh come now Mr. Black, I'm not going to poison you...or feed you blood, if that's what you worried about? "
Me: "Thank you, whatever you have there is fine. "
