Aurora insisted I spend some time with Sabastian, The General, Vince and Terrence... The four vampire's closest to her at this particular time in her life. They were like a family unit and It was her way of trying to convince me that not all vampires are evil, but just the idea that she'd put me in this position, knowing vampires killed my family and my hatred towards vampires, placed doubt in my mind that she was as caring as she wanted me to believe.

But I was forthcoming, I guess a felt it was the least I could do...My time with each of the vampires started off awkward to say the least. I spent ample time with each as per Aurora's request, and in doing so I learned about each of their history's and how they came to be. How they got to where they are. How they came to know Aurora and how each of them in their own way loved and adored her. She changed each of their lives and they were better "vampires" for it.

The General was the least eager to spend time with me, he was not the sharing type, but then again, I didn't need to get much information from him, Alex's notes told me all I needed to know about him. The one thing I did get from him was threat after threat about how he was going to kill me if I so much as touched Aurora.

I did respect him for that because even with the knowledge of the contract taken out on her and the fact that coming after a hunter would be nothing short of suicidal...he still had the balls to take me on. He was by far the most courageous out of all the vampires I've dealt with, it was clear why he was the leader of vampire armies.

One thing was certain... He was in love with her, that much was evident even from Alex's notes, further more they shared a special bond although she didn't love him the way he loved her. What made him dangerous was his jealously, he hated me not just for being a hunter...the hunter that was going to kill the love of his life, but he hated me for the time and attention she gave me. I couldn't figure out why she kept him around if she didn't precipitate the same kind of feelings towards him, to me it was just proof that vampires were heartless and selfish, but what I didn't expect was to hear the truth from The General himself.

The General: "You're probably wondering why she doesn't love me...or why she keeps me around knowing full-well about my feelings for her?"

Me: "Yes, the thought had crossed my mind"

The General: " There's more to it than one simple answer...I fell in love with her when she was still a pathetic human girl and I could have easily just taken her but that wouldn't have made me any different from the others, furthermore my loyalties laid with Robert at that time and she belonged to him. The fact that I told her I was in love with her back then was pushing it too far already.

I've saved her life more than once, and it's out of love and out of duty...she is my queen, and when she broke Roberts bond with me...she saved me from a life I hated and for that I would be forever grateful, so yes she has told me many times that I'm free and I don't owe her a thing, she has even instructed me to leave but I refused. It is the one command I will never obey and she has every right to kill me for not obeying it but she never will, because she knows out of everyone, I'm the one that will always have her back.

Above anything else we are friends. I've saved her life and she saved mine. We have a loyalty towards each other. And yes I may love her but she doesn't feel the same, I will never force her into it because I know what she's been through. I'll take what I can get even if its picking up the pieces when some jerk used her and broke her. If she needs blood I'm there, if she needs affection and love I'm there, if she needs to be fucked senseless just for the sake of feeling something..."

Me: "Okay okay, I get it. You sure are fucked up...here I thought she was using you, playing with your emotions, making her a cold heartless bitch, but you're the one using her pain to be the hero, there for her...but it's just a ploy to get what you want"
