Chapter 17

Joshua: "Shhhh! Hurry up" he whispers to the rest of us before pulling Alex through the second story window causing Alex to fall into the room, knocking Joshua over before landing on-top of him.

Alex can't help but give a muffled giggle at their clumsiness.

Kate: "Shut up, Jeez...do you want us to get caught!" she tries to scold them in a hushed tone.

Vince and Terrance already searching through drawers and looking for secrets... Who knows why.

Sabastian: "Who's idiotic plan was this again?"

Joshua: "I still don't get why we are breaking into the council member's offices...why don't we just break Aurora out?"

Me: "Amateurs!... I told you, Aurora is guarded, now more than ever. Our efforts are better spent planting these..." my voice trails off as I pull yet another copy of the documents out of my backpack and place it on Council member Marcus's desk. "There, that's the last one"

Sabastian: "What about Robert's?"

Me: "Are you daft? I'm not giving him a heads-up"

Sabastian rolls his eyes at me before we make our way out the office and down the fire escape stairway.

Sabastian: "If you place a copy on each council member's desk and the only one not getting one is Robert... He's gonna now it was you, who's daft now?"

Me: "I don't care if he knows, it will be out and he won't have a clue before it's too late"

Terrance: "Do you think it will make a difference?"

I shrug my shoulders "I don't know...I hope so, we have nothing else" Well that's not entirely true. I've been up most of the night thinking of answers and responses to every possible thing Robert can throw at me. 

Before long we run across the courtyard on our way back to our hotel. It will be getting light soon.

Alex was exhausted by the time we reached the hotel but I was grateful to him, he saved Aurora once before from Robert, when he shot him, his effort through-out the night might help save her from him again.

We spent most of the night going through the notes he once took for Aurora's so called auto biography, but he had to do a lot of editing to change it to read as Aurora's statement, a recollection of what her life has been. Somewhat like a diary about her life, instead of an autobiography. 

The notes also ended abruptly before, when Alex went looking for Robert, he never finished it...and a lot has transpired since. We had to add all of that in. Of cause Aurora wasn't there to give us the details of her life so we had to recollect and share our memories and experiences to get the document as detailed and up to date as possible. 

The idea was that we give a copy to each of the council members, giving them some insight as to what Aurora has been enduring and how Robert has ruined her live and manipulated and murdered his way into council.  

There was no proof of cause but I was hopeful that they would at least question some of the details.

My nerves were getting the better of me, I was starting to feel nauseous. As if Sabastian knew how I was feeling, he handed me a glass of whiskey.

I just looked at him and frowned "Seriously? The sun isn't even up yet and I have to face the Council in just over two hours...I can't drink now!"

Sabastian: "It's one shot man, and it will calm the nerves"

I sigh as I take the glass "Why the hell not " is all I say as I down the drink. Sabastian rushed off to the bathroom leaving me alone with Kate but Just then there's a knock at the door.
