Later that night, after we got all the trackers out and hid them, we sat around the fire. Well, they sat around the fire. I was in the back of the van with all the doors shut. I had laid down so I couldn't see the light. The light had always made me tense. The darkness though. It calmed me. I don't know why, but it did. I laid there with only me and my thoughts when the doors were opened. I looked up to see Evanna standing there. "What are you doing?" she asked.

"Enjoying the dark," I said, "You can join m if you'd like. Just shut the doors."

She rolled her eyes before climbing in and shutting the doors. She cuddled up with me. "You've always been a nyctophile," she said.

"A what?" I asked, looking down at her.

"A nyctophile," she repeated, "Someone who feels relaxed in the dark or who loves the dark and night"

"Oh," I said, "Then yeah, I'm one of those"

She giggled. We laid there in silence. I thought about what she had said. She was right. All my life, the dark has always comforted me, even in my darkest times. My dad used to joke about it saying that I was a vampire.

The doors opened, taking me from my thoughts. Dola was standing there, panting. "The jewel" he began, "It's gone. Melania went to take out so we could take a look at it. Mabe talk about it some because of that curse you know? Anyway, it's gone. It wasn't in his satchel."

"Okay two things," I said, "How can you just casually talk about a curse like that? Also, what do you mean it's gone?"

"I mean it's gone," he said, "It was in his satchel and now it's not"

I sighed and got out of the van. "Well then," I said, "I guess it's time to find  the jewel"
