CHAPTER 16 (He & Riddler)

The midget was pretty much in a high spirit mode with his intrinsic nature. Unlike our hero-in-the-making, who's pretty much snots already for fear of being slammed hard!

"WAAAAAH! Are you out of your mind, Taler?!!!"

He closed his eyes and took a good grip at Puddle's hairs, expecting that the impact would be a big blow!

The feeling was like jumping from the hills and diving to that clear waters of Cagraray Islands; a bit scary but is so much refreshing.

That white sand colored walls of the City of Walls is as thick as all the remained walls combined in the Cagsawa Ruins. And its texture is as bulky as the ground it stands in. An open desert-like field with white sands as its resting place.

They were not able to breathe for a second or two, but they were able to pass through that thick wall of the City of Walls. They stretched in through it, to be exact, for you see, that wall was elastic.

Puddle suddenly stopped running when she saw the splendor inside. They are now inside the City of Walls.

"WAAAAA!!!" He was still shouting and hugging Puddle tightly.

Taler gave him a good whack in the head and said, "Oh! Don't be so melodramatic, sir."

He came to his senses and saw that they were already inside, unscathed.

"Whoah! That was a little awkward," He then smiled at his own absurdity, "Why didn't you explained to me, Taler my friend, that we can just easily enter here without any touch of pains at all?"

"Oh, I was clear a while ago that we could easily enter here, sir. Remember?" Taler gave a look at He.

"Ah! It's a good thing that none of my fans saw that awkward scene," He simpered.

"Oh, as if, you have one. Anyways," Taler jumped down from Puddle to the ground, "Welcome to the City of Walls, sir!"

"Waaa! Taler! What have you done?!" He suddenly shouted as Taler touched the ground, "I was really looking forward to take the first step, and you even took the giant leap. Huhu," He wailed.

"Oh, don't be such a crybaby, sir," Taler then said, "Don't fret on such trivial things. Technically, we're not even at the city yet. Think of this setting as its front yard."

He then smiled when Taler said this and quickly unmounts.

As Taler said, we are not yet inside the City of Walls. After entering the walls, there is still a wall surrounding the city; the Gate Wall, that is. The Gate Wall is not as high as the wall outside. And it is not really even a gate, for it lacks any kind of gate door or rails. It has many parabolic holes surrounding it. So one can just swiftly enter the city without breaking a sweat.

"Oh! By the way, sir, I forgot to tell you that it is well known from this islands these two lines," Taler suddenly made a revelation, "'Anyone can enter, anyone can't exit; Anyone can go in, anyone can't go out.' It doesn't even rhyme, but that's it."

"You mean, we're stocked?!!!" He shouted in shock, "Why didn't you even tell me this very important piece of information when we have not yet entered?!"

"Oh, I just told you, didn't I?" Taler reasoned out, "And I told you too that I forgot, didn't I?"

"Ah, why even bother," He rolled his eyes and let out a deep sigh, "Anyway, we're already here, so let's just cross the river when we get there... Let's find Fighter first."

"Oh, it's bridge, sir. BRIDGE! You even look like a jester when you say it wrong," Taler chuckled.

He just ignored his friend's comment and then asked, "Say, Taler my friend, how come they built such a thing?"
