"Magandang gabi po, Boss Vic, Ah....." Sarah wanted to tell him about the reporter. About the awful phone call and how scared she was.
However, something stopped her.
"What is it, Anak? Hatinggabi na."
"Pasensya na po."
Boss Vic hesitated. "Sarah, may problema ka ba?"
"Maaari ko po ba kayong makita sa Lunes?"
"Something important?"
"Mag-usap na lang po tayo kapag nakita ko po kayo."
"Okay. Fine. Goodnight, Hija."
"Goodnight po."
Sarah swallowed as she laid down the receiver. She thought of the reporter and the twenty-four hour deadline he had given her to come up with some cash.
Should she pay him off and be left in peace for a while?
Or would he simply become an ongoing threat, always there, ready to blackmail her whenever he wanted more money?
She doesn't want Matteo to be offended. She will protect him from her world the best way that she can.
Sarah found herself melting inside when she thought of him, remembering all that had taken place tonight.
There was a new tenderness and intimacy between them that she had never known with a man before.

Inside Matteo's condo
Caffeine would keep him awake, so he opted for a glass of chilled water, sipped the content, and then crossed to his bedroom.
Matteo divested his clothes, took a leisurely cold shower, and then slid between cool sheets in an effort to sleep.
Without success.
There were too many images crowding his mind.
A dark haired Filipina whose eyes seemed to haunt him. Her voice is angelic and unique. The feel of her hands on their embrace and their caressing warmth. It was almost as if he could still sense the exclusive tones of her perfume.
He didn't want to be this disturbed by a woman.
It clouded his perspective, dulled his commonsense, and played havoc with his nervous system.
He'd met scores of women, been charmed by several, discovered an affection for a few, and loved none.
At least, not the melting bones kind of emotion portrayed on the movie screen.
When it came to attraction, he was still waiting for the earth to move.
Yet tonight he had experienced it in the arms of the Philippines Popstar Royalty.
What was he thinking?
Matteo gazed thoughtfully out to the full moon.
Today something unexpected had occurred. Something he would never have imagined.
The more he thought about it, the more he wondered if his attraction for Sarah wasn't just the usual passing shaft of desire that needed to be satisfied.
Something deeper.....something that spoke of emotion.
Ridiculous! He scolded himself.
He only knew her as the multi-awarded singer-actress of the Philippines.
Sarah Geronimo was the last woman on earth he would want to have anything to do with.
What if she doesn't think or feel the same way about him?
How would he feel about that?
Deep down he had realized that she's a shy person and inexperienced in realistic life.
She was sensitive, so soft and feminine, and a vulnerable woman, but used to tough atmosphere of the show business.
