She slept better than she had anticipated. By the time she was up and dressed she had talked herself back into a positive attitude.
She had no right to blame him because he hadn't met her romantic expectations.
If she wanted roses and chocolates then she had picked the wrong man.
She heard Matteo's door open and she tensed.
How would he be with her today? Cool? What if.....?
He came in and took the mail.
"Hi. How's your day?" he said casually.
"Great. Kumusta ang trabaho mo?" she asked.
"Pretty quiet." he shrugged. "Guess I need to get out there and network a little more."
He headed straight for his home office."Just come in here for a moment, would you, Sarah?
She was being summoned.
Keep it business like and take the lead from him, she told herself as she quietly went inside the home office.
She lifted her eyebrows politely."Ano ang maipaglilingkod ko para sa iyo, Matteo?"
"You can come right here and kiss me."
"No, I wouldn't."
"My, my, my, but you are grouchy today," he accused softly.
"Hindi ako nagrereklamo o nagtatampo."
"Stubborn, then."
She smiled, feeling more powerful by the moment. "Dahil hindi ko gagawin kung ano ang gusto mo?"
He laughed. "I guess."
Deliberately, he ran his eyes slowly over her, from the top of her head to the tip of her toes. He enjoyed the rise of color on her cheeks.
"Still don't want to kiss me? He taunted.
"No," she said firmly.
"How about we go to a show tonight?"
Sarah blinked in surprise. "What kind of show?
"I have two tickets to a concert."
"To what?"
"John Legend Concert."
Sarah's eyes glittered. She wanted to watch him perform in person but the VIP tickets were all sold out.
"So shall I pick you up later? Say around seven? We could go for a light meal first if you like."
Sarah smiled. Something was telling her that tonight would be an extraordinary night.
The frantic stuff was done. This really was a date.
"Love to," she said, and smiled widely.
