DING!, the elevator door opened and both women arrived at floor one hundred. John wouldn't be too hard to find since this floor seemed normal sized and well lit, but there was this huge safe looking door behind all the tables and equipment. Their best guess was that John would be behind that door, but their problem would be access to the room behind. There won't be a door like that without a crutial part of the operation behind it. Jen and Martha walked through the rows of tables and apparatuses still talking a glimpse at their surroundings.
On arrival to the door Martha inspected it but no handle to open and no key card, so how were they to open it?. Then suddenly Martha stepped back causing a tile to sink slightly before a voice spoke.,
'initiating scan,' the voice said.
As it performed the scan Jen looked around. A feeling in her stomach bothered her.
"Authermus was close" she guessed.
'ACCESS DENIED' the voice said.
Jen then stepped up and stood in place.
'Performing scan' the voice said again.
Jen hoped that they could enter the room before Authermus could reach them. If it entered the room, there was no escape.
'ACCESS GRANTED' the voice said again.
The door opened slowly and inside they could see another brightly lit white room with a control panel surrounded by thick jail looking bars. They walked in and the door closed behind them. Just as Jen thought, Authermus came through the ceiling and ran toward them but the slowly closing door had already come to far to be opened. Click!, followed by the sound of huge gears moving notified the women that the door had been sealed properly.
As they turned around to approach the bars that protect the control panel, there he was, John. That short blond haired brainwashed scientist who unfortunately had to be forgiven in order to move forward.
"John!," Martha shouted as she walked up to the bars.
"WAIT!!!, F**K!," John shouted.
Martha was startled as she never heard John talked so loud and stern. She jumped back.
"DON'T TOUCH THE Bars!, you won't be able to move your hands from it while you get electrocuted and Acid drips from the ceiling to the center of your skull, burning a hole through your brain." John explained.
"Its a defensive mechanism" he continued.
Martha was curious as to why John would tell her this, especially after he knows she wants to kill him. Jen was baffled as well. By the look on both their faces John knew he owed an explanation,
"you're both wondering why I warned Martha about the defensive mechanism correct?"
Well even though I know you want to kill me for what I did to you. I wish you would forgive me." John explained
"Why should I do that" Martha asked
"Because I was under the influence of my father before the whole brainwashing incident. I never wanted to do those things but he forced me." John explained again.
"And how did he do that" Jen asked.
"He has my daughter hostage. He threatened to make her an experiment after he made her mother a host." John continued.
Michael needed to pay for even more crimes, now that Martha and Jen learnt of this. Martha explained that she didn't like the idea but she forgave him anyway. They needed to work together to find John's father so no one else would ever suffer like they did.
"one more thing!, as a teen growing up I vaguely remembered, but from what I can recall, I used to say to myself when I do get older and marry, I would stick to my wife's side no matter what we go through... I know it was just a simulation and we're not really married but I will stick to your side no matter what!," John explained
"What is this? Are you proposing to me in coded terms? In a time like this." Martha asked.
"Yes Martha, would you marry me for real?" John proposed.
"Before I answer, I need you to know something about Jen," Martha said.
Martha proceeded to tell John of the shocking discovery they made and all they went through before they could reach here, and the time it took for them to arrive, she had enough time to forgive him. John understood the controversy that this company had caused and vowed to help bring it to the ground. Martha then responded to John's proposal earlier telling him, once they got through this in one peice and things settle down, then they can do the same taking Jen with them of course. John agreed and opened the door to the protected bared space.
'SLAP!!'
As Jen gasped, John held his face. Martha didn't kill John but she owed him that. She then proceeded to embrace him and kiss his lips as they shared a moment they missed. Jen smiled, for she was happy for the both of them. They were one big disfunctional family brought together by science and coincidence but family nonetheless.
Jen Martha and John had to devise a plan to trap John's father but first John had to figure out where he would be. John took to the computer checking his father's IP login and GPS location. He found a match after half hour of different relivent searches. There he was, on the neighboring mountain, apparantly during the time away, they had the time to build another base of operation. John hacked the camera of his father's laptop. There he was, a grey haired, mature, white lab coat wearing, well dressed man in his late eighties. Authermus was with him while he spoke to a group of scientists concerning continuing tests and research.
"You are protected!, Authermus will save us all. We are in troubling times but we will be victorious!," Michael said.
John, Martha and Jen looked on as he gave the speech, then the scientist went to their relivent stations to continue working. John logged out of the computer and the three of them geared up with supplies for the short journey. Martha found a gun in one of the drawers, but John took it, as he was afraid Martha shot him on purpose and acted as an accident.
