Juliet's POV:
Brown really came through for me.
She got me the release forms and signed them.
Then she went and decided to drive me home herself, so that I could pack.
Lily decided that since we were leaving the military together, that we would go to university together.
I didn't plan this, but I had to look out for number one now.
Me.Lily, Brown and I were currently heading back home.
It was already late, but Brown didn't care. She just wanted me away from Braydon.
She was a really good friend, even if she was way older than me.
The ride was silent the whole way home.
I stared out of the window as I tried to keep my emotions under control.
As soon as we got to my house, I got out and unlocked the door.
I didn't dwell in the house for long. I just threw the necessary things into suitcases and got out.
I didn't want to be in the same place as where I had once lived a happy, ignorant life with Braydon.
But a lot of things made better sense now.
Like the late night calls to an unknown person or how I wasn't allowed to use his laptop or phone.
It all added up. He was obviously still contacting his wife.
With the help of Lily and Brown, we loaded my bags into my car.
"Good luck, sweety. If you ever need anything, just ring. Day or night. Got it?", Brown said with a firm look that told me she meant it.
"I got it. I'll stay in touch, I promise.", I said and hugged her.
She hugged back before moving to her car and got in.
"Are you sure about this, Juliet?", Lily asked.
"Yeah, there's no way I can stay here. Besides, I want to go to university too. With you.", I told her and she shrieked.
"This is going to be awesome. I'll sign you up as soon as I get back to my room! Drive safe and I'll see you in five days.", she said, gave me a quick hug and got into Brown's car.
They drove off as I waved and got into my own car.
I drove up to the gates and handed over my papers.
"I'm sorry to see you go, Serge. You'll be missed.", the gate guard, Harry, said.
"Thanks, Harry. It's going to be an adjustment to get used normal life, but it's for the best.", I said and he nodded.
"See you around, Serge.", he said as I drove through the gates for the last time.
I waved back at him, before hitting the gas and speeding off.
I wasn't as sad to leave as I thought I would've been.
Maybe the whole Braydon thing changed my views.
One thing that has definitely changed is my view of guys/men.
They were probably all just lying, cheating, manipulating bastards.
One was for sure. I will never trust another man again in my life.
Love just wasn't made for me and it's good to know.
Now, I could concentrate on my school work, instead of wasting my time on guys.
I drove for two hours until I came across a motel.
I stopped there and decided to spend the night.
I went in, got a room, got my backpack from the car and went to my room.
I got out my phone and decided to call my dad to tell him I was on my way home.
It rang for a few seconds, before he finally answered.
"Hello?", he said. He sounded pretty tired.
"Hey, Dad.", I said and I heard the phone being dropped, before it was retrieved.
"Jules, what a surprise.", he said and he sounded surprised too.
"Yeah, I just wanted to let you know that I'm coming home tomorrow.", I said.
"What did you do this time?", he asked with a sigh.
Okay, that hurt. Like a lot. I mean I haven't been in trouble for a solid three years.
I mean like come on, give me some credit.
"Nothing, I decided to go to university and do something else with my life.", I said.
"Oh well, that's great, Juliet. What time are you coming?", he asked.
"Around 7 or 8pm.", I answered as I calculated the time.
"See you then.", my dad said and hung up.
Okay? So no goodbye, just see you then? Like really?
God, did my family really hate me that much?
I decided not to dwell on it anymore.
I called Justin next to tell him the news, but he didn't pick up.
I tried a few more times, but I got the same result each time.
He was probably busy, so I would just surprise him tomorrow with the news.
I shut my phone off and put it on the nightstand.
Then I got dressed for bed and went to sleep.
