Juliet's POV:
I walked into my room and saw another woman already in the room.
She continued her packing out without even looking up when I came in.
Well, if she wanted to be like that, then I could do it too.
I walked over to the open bed near the window and set my bag down.
"Juliet? Juliet Dawson?", a familiar voice asked and I looked up.
It was the girl that stood at the farest bed from me.
I looked at her closely, but I didn't recognize her.
She had black hair that was pulled in a low side bun like mine and she had brown eyes.
She looked really familiar, but I just couldn't place her.
"I'm Lily Daniels?", she said, but it came out as more of a question.
Now I knew exactly who she was. Damn, but she had changed a lot.
She looked older and much more mature. She looked good though.
I went over to her and hugged her tightly.
"I've missed you, girl. How've you been?", I asked as I pulled away.
"I've been good. How about you?", she asked.
"I'm good. Great to be away from base for a while.", I replied.
"I feel you, girl. This is actually my last week in the air force.", she said.
"Really? Why?", I asked confused.
Why would anyone want to leave the army?
"I want to go to the university. Plus, I kind of miss my family.", she said and shrugged.
She had a good point there. I missed my people too.
"Do you still talk to them a lot?", I asked curiously.
"Every single day. What about you?", she said.
"Not a word from any of them, but I mean they're busy people. It's totally understandable.", I said and acted like it was no big deal.
In reality it was a big deal to me. A really big one.
"Did you at least hear about your brother?", Lily asked.
I frowned and shook my head. Was this going to be good news or bad news?
"Oh, uhm. Well, he's kind of engaged and he's a super star football player now.", she replied and scratched the back of her neck.
Okay, that hurt. Like a lot. Even more than the time I was shot.
Long story. One that I liked to keep a secret.
Why didn't they tell me? Didn't I deserve to at least know that my brother was engaged?
"I'm guessing that you didn't know.", Lily said, awkwardly.
"Braydon and I don't really watch that much sport anyway.", I said and played it off like it was nothing.
Lily seemed to notice as she snatched at the change of topic.
"Braydon, huh?", she asked and wiggled her eyebrows at me.
I laughed and was about to answer when there was a knock at the door.
I stood up and went to answer it. It was the devil himself.
"Hey, Braydon. This is Lily, an old friend of mine. Lily meet Braydon, my boyfriend.", introduced.
