"Are jeans decent enough to wear?" I muttered to my Mother.
She rose her head when I turned in the mirror, checking my back half of my body I couldn't see in my reflexion. I watched in the reflexion as her lips cracked a small smile, finally nodding, dropping her hands onto her lap.
"You look lovely." She complimented.
I smiled in return, ruffling my top between the tips of my fingers. It was coming up towards 7 and I had finally decided on casual jeans a shirt in the limited time I had left. Like Luke said, it wasn't a date and I wasn't his date. What was the point in impressing?
"Where are you going again?" My Mum stressed.
I sighed when I turned around to her. "For the millionth time, I don't know, the movies I think. It's not a date if that's what your stressing about."
"What's his name? The boy you're going with?" She asked.
"You wouldn't know him." I shook my head, pushing my hair up with the palms of my hands. "He's knew and he's sweet." I said to myself.
My head tilted in the direction of the door when I heard the doorbell ring. I huffed out a breath, balancing my bag on my shoulder when I turned around to my Mum with a happy smile.
"I'll see you later." I hugged her quick.
She muttered a small goodbye and a regular 'be safe' when I walked down the steps, finally twisting the door knob to open the door. Luke stood with his tall frame leant against the wall, his hair messy, dressed in his familiar black skinny jeans and a dark top with cut off sleeves.
I happily smiled at his appearance, taking in every part of his outfit with a complimenting smile. The edges of Luke's lips turned up the sides briefly, hardly even lifting his eyes up from the floor. Soon enough, he stood up, walking up to his jet black car and taking his signature seat at the front, slamming the door behind himself.
What a gentlemen.
"Where are we going?" I asked as I finally sat down in the passenger seat.
Once I sat down, I buckled up my seatbelt and leant back into the seat. Luke also did the same, a light twitch in his actions as his hands gripped around the steering wheel, not taking my question even into account. He cocked his head either side, earning a slight click and I shivered, watching as parts of his hands turned a certain shade of white.
The key turned in the ignition, making the car roar to life and his hand shakily lowered down to the gear stick. I sat silent as I thought for a brief second I could catch brief tears glittering in his eyes.
"Do you want-"
"I can do it." He interrupted angrily.
I sat back in my seat in silence, glancing back at my house as for the next few moments the only sound from inside the car rumbled from the engine. We had been sat here for few minutes now and I almost believed I'd have to forcefully pull Luke out of the car and take his space if we ever wanted to go anywhere.
When the car slowly pulled onto the road itself, Luke's face was almost as shocked as mine as he carefully changed gear and continued on the road.
You could call me stupid with the fact I thought the journey would have had even the slightest part of conversation by now. It was beyond awkward, Luke drove at such a slow pace, I couldn't even recall how many drivers sped past, shouting curse words out the window.
Luke's POV
My hands were shaking so hard against the steering wheel I hoped she hadn't noticed but any human with eyes could see.
