I'd continually felt upset throughout the day about Luke. It hadn't gone very well when I tried to talk to him and I wasn't surprised if he'd never want to again. He seemed distraught even before I'd brought up the whole 'girlfriend situation'. But I've been told many times now it was best to leave him alone.
It's been 2 days now since the scene at lunch and he'd ran off before I could follow him. I felt disappointed in myself that I couldn't have a proper conversation, let alone help him from the past or at least let him know I could be there for him.
When I entered my house, I kicked my bag to the floor and my Mum was constantly on my tail about how the day was and what happened. But I explained lightly I wasn't in the mood to talk and as I did, she followed me closely to my room since she was probably worried I would do something stupid.
"You can tell me, Lexie. I'm you're Mum I need to know these things." Her sigh showed she wasn't too bothered of a loss of answer but her eyes demanded them.
Whilst I sat in silence, I debated whether or not to explain the situation of Luke and what he had been through and I had only wanted to help him but whenever anyone did he just walked away. But I just shook off the feeling and smiled slowly at her.
"I'm fine, just tired I guess." I lied.
My Mum was only one of the many people that could tell whether or not I ever lied as she knew me so well. I was regularly a believable liar with Ashton, Michael and Calum but recently they began to pick up signs of how they could tell.
"Lexie." She grunted.
"Mum." I replied quickly.
She finally disposed of the conversation with a wave of her hand and announced that dinner would be ready soon.

I could almost feel the bags form under my eyes and I knew it was finally time to leave. It was already 8:10pm and it was the time to go if I wanted to be home in time to watch football with Dad.
The library was almost empty now anyway since the normal students had left to get an early start to the weekend and the library was on the verge of closing soon. I kicked the chair back, piling the varied amounts of textbooks in my arms and pushed my pen in my pocket.
Once I was ready to leave, I was the last person to walk through the exit and I closed the door behind me once I did. The night sky was cold against my warm cheeks and it made my body shiver and my books come tighter to my chest.
I scurried down the steps of the library and let the lights of the dim street lamps lead me home, down the regular paths.
Up ahead, I could hear a boy chatting quietly and I supposed he was on the phone when he had his hand up to his ear. Messy blonde strands left the sides of his beanie and I noticed his lips were in a straight line when he approached closer.
I glanced up slowly to him as he began to walk past, up into his eyes and I almost gasped when we made quick eye contact. His eyes were a glistening colour blue and I almost melted at the sight of him. His lips turned into a light smile as he brushed past, continuing to walk down the path.
When I slowly turned my head back around to him he had already done the same, glancing over his shoulder again to cause our eyes to meet one again. I turned back forward again and giggled softly, biting at my lower lip when I kept my steady pace back to my house.
The road was quiet despite from the night wildlife and the cars speeding past, occasional commotion of vehicles in the distance but besides that this neighbourhood was very peaceful.
"Hey!" I heard a shout a minute later, followed by a breathless pant.
The boy approached my side and slipped his phone into his front pocket and adjusted the beanie above his head before he talked.
"I just realised I actually have to go this way." He spoke with a light smirk on his face.
"Really?" I laughed, playing along.
"No." He admitted, laughing at himself.
My teeth attached themselves around my bottom lip, watching him tilt his head down to the floor and his laughter vibrated off his chest. He looked up into my eyes finally and he smiled wider. He took a small step back and held out a hand in a kind gesture.
"May I please walk the young lady home on this fine evening?" His eyes flicked to my face in search of an answer.
I laughed again and nodded happily when his hand dropped down again by his side. We walked side by side down the road in a slow pace, watching the cars speed past the road.
"I'm Luke." He said quickly.
I smiled, peering over to him gently as the textbooks squeezed closer at my chest. "I'm Lexie. With an e." I laughed at myself.
He began to smile wider at my laughter and I felt my cheeks flush, looking down suddenly in reaction as I almost lost hold of all the books in my hands.
"Let me hold them for you." He offered kindly, stopping suddenly to reach for my books.
"It's fine, don't worry." I shook my head.
"They look like they weigh a tone!" He laughed. "Just until we reach your house."
"Well this is my house." I smiled shyly, referring to the house behind me.
His big blue eyes glanced to the medium sized semi detached house behind me and I couldn't bring myself to look away when I felt drawn into his eyes. My lips slowly parted but I finally closed them when he glanced down to me, his eyes sparkling in amusement.
He closed the space between us with a few steps and I felt my breathing heavy when he took my hand gently from my side. It was slowly brought up to his soft lips when they skimmed my knuckles and he kissed the skin gently.
His finger gently brushed against mine before he slowly let my hand go and this time I didn't even try to hide the colour of my cheeks, biting so hard at my lip I almost drew blood.
"Well, Lexie. With an E." He paused, and we both laughed at his comment. "It was a pleasure to walk you home. I'll be seeing you again soon?"
I nodded eagerly in response, even if we never did see each-other again I was happy with our few minutes, and he smiled wider, walking away back in the direction we came from and turned back to me to wave his hand goodbye with a huge smile.
I gasped suddenly. My back instantly shot up from the mattress of the bed when my heart paced as fast as a train, almost falling from my chest. I turned my head gently around me to notice the bed covers sprawled across my body and I rubbed at the side of my head.
It was only a dream.
My dream showed how Luke could be, even if it weren't real and when other unforgettable occasions weren't on his mind. But the personality change were almost showing two completely different people.
This gave me the determination that I knew I was going to help Luke forget about the past.
