“Are you coming to the wedding? Please say yes!” I begged over the telephone. “I mean, seriously, I only get married once. So please, please, please, say yes.”
“You do know that I’m in Paris, right?” Sam retorted and I sighed. “Job is freaking loaded right now, D. And I’m really sorry—”
“You are my Maid of Honor, Samantha!” I complained and she groaned.
“I know!”
“So why aren’t you here?!” I demanded, throwing a book across the room to express my frustration.
“I know that I only worked with you half the way but—”
“Oh come on, Sam. You’ll be missing out. We promised each other not to miss out even with your career going platinum. Come on, please?”
“Wow. You really convinced me.” She says and sighs. “I’ll be there in a month.”
