The Bride
A lot happened in this date. And starting today, those will remain in the past so I can start my future. When I got home that Monday morning, I began to rehearse what I was to say to the man who will complete me—what could I tell him about the weekend I’ve spent with the man named Bryan.
As soon as he walked through our door, I went straight to the point. And he said nothing. The rest of the day was silent and it made me think that he’d call off the wedding.
But he didn’t. Instead, he left for two days with my knowledge and when he got back, I was welcomed into open arms and we just talked about the wedding.
So now, we’re here. In the car, I tried to breathe in the thought of me…getting married. Sam was calming me down and I tried to calm down. Honestly, I was calm. But the fact is, I’m uncertain of things. So as my best friend, Sam brought me to the back room of the church and I tried my hardest to think this through and drank a glass of water while I’m at it.
Just then—
“MS. DIANE REED, PLEASE WAKE UP!”
And I fell to the floor.
