"He's always had imaginary friends, but I thought that he would of grown out of it by now", a woman speaks to a man wearing a white suit. Both of them stand looking through a slightly open doorway, watching the woman's son in the waiting room. The ten-year-old is talking to someone sitting in the chair next to him and evidently holding something in his lap. There's nobody there. The boy receives a few strange looks from others in the waiting room, but seems too preoccupied to notice.
"We've seen this before. If it's alright with you, I'd like to speak with him alone to diagnose him correctly. We can't give him any extra distractions", the doctor explains, eyes focused on the child. Ty's mother didn't know what she wanted to do. She wants the best for her son, but she's afraid that he might be taken away from her. She loves her, son and wants him to get help if he needs it.
"Ok. I'll go get him"*****************************************************************************************************
The first thing that I'm aware of is the intense ringing noise in my ears. The sound comes with a blinding headache. I groan in pain, scrunching up my eyes. I try to drag my arms closer to my body, but I only move for a second before pain flashes through my muscles. It feels like my body's just one giant bruise. What the hell happened? I remember going to the party, but nothing after that. No way I would of let myself get drunk. Gritting my teeth, I quickly shove myself into a sitting position. Everything is spinning for a moment while my limbs protest to the movement. My eyes can't focus on anything.
A sudden crash from downstairs and muted yelling suddenly overpowers the ringing in my ears. What's going on? Is everyone here? Are they safe? With my limbs screaming in protest, I slowly stand up. The room sways as some part of my mind registers that its my own bedroom. I fail to notice the lump against the wall when I stumble to the doorway. I have to lean on the walls to keep from falling. Everything is in a bit of a haze.
I eventually make it down the hallway, leaning on the walls the entire time. Why am I so weak? I almost fall over when I get to the living room doorway. My vision is blurry from all the movement, and it takes my eyes some time to focus enough to see what's going on. The scene before me might have been funny had my head not hurt so much. Demon and Insane are yelling, pinning someone to the ground. Enderlox is screaming back at them. Ghost and Hologram are nowhere to be seen, probably because they prefer to stay out of arguments. The rest of them are scattered about the room.
"Deadlox!", a voice suddenly shouts. Someone barrels into me, almost knocking us both over. I have to grip the doorframe for support.
"Squid? What's going on", I mumble, my voice cracking on the last word. He's clinging onto my arm, eyes wide with relief.
"Ty! Are you ok? Where does it hurt?", Brinelox is suddenly all over me with questions.
"I'm fine", I tell him, my voice a little stronger, "But what's happening?".
"This idiot picked the wrong house to rob", Insane yells, cackling like a madman. The theif is looking around wildly, not seeing what's pinning him down. He does see me, and must be very confused on what the fuck is happening.
I hiss under my breath at another wave of pain in my head, before paying attention to the situation at hand.
"Ok. Demon? Could you erase the last five minutes of his memory? Then Brine can take him over to the next block since it's dark, but be careful not to be seen", I say to them. Demonlox grunts before laying a hand on the stranger's forehead, making him quickly stop moving and pass out. Brinelox pulls him over his shoulder, promptly walking out the door like it was an everyday thing.
"Now, what happened at that party? All I remember is the music....", I trail off, one hand still against the wall. Squidlox cringes next to me.
"Annoying pesk", Vampire mumbles.
"Yeah.... he's a little..... hyper", Sirenlox sighs.
"What? Who are you gu-", I starts to ask them, but then I stop. It makes sense now. The weakness, dizziness, my memory gap, "Shit".
"It must have been the music. You had your headphones turned up so high that you couldn't hear anything else", Enderlox huffs.
"And he wouldn't stop yapping all the way home. We had to knock him out", Dollox throws in, sitting on the counter.
"Where is he now?", I ask them. No one has a chance to reply before music starts to drift down the hall. I can't help but cringe at the sound.
"Welp.... I think I'll leave this one to you", Ender snickers, slinking away. The rest give similar excuses, all quickly disappearing from sight. I sigh before pushing off the wall and following the sound of music. Ghostlox was the last time that this happened, and we thought he would be the last. We didn't think there would be anymore of us after leavening that place. Ghost and I didn't separate for a full weak from shock and fear.
I hesitate before pushing open the door of my recording room. The only light that's on is a small desk lamp, and I can only see his figure in the dim lighting. Somehow, he's hooked up my VR headset. And he's playing Beat Saber with the volume on full blast........ and his headphones under that. I flick on the light with no reaction. A small smile works it's way onto my face. It may be tiresome with all my different personas running around, but I never did get tired of meeting them for the first time.
He screams and nearly nails me in the head with a VR controller when I touch his shoulder. His voice is slightly higher then mine, but nowhere near Siren's.
"Hey, it's ok! Sorry for scaring you", I tell him, putting my hand back on his shoulder. He fumbles with the headset and tries to get it off while I examine him. We're actually the same height this time. His hair is the same shade as mine, and he wears headphones, but a neon blue color instead of green. The same blue is on the tips of his hair and on the edges of his white shirt. His baggy pants have a phone sticking out. The phone is plugged into a mobile charger on his belt loops. Pink glow sticks are wrapped around his wrists. Except for knives, no one's ever gotten objects before.
When the headset is off his face, I can seen his neon blue, glowing eyes. His eyes seem so bright, and it takes me a miniature to realize why. He hasn't been in that place like the rest of us. The horror of it hasn't stained his memories or creation. Only three of us weren't created there, and now we have one more.
"Hi! Have you seen all this stuff? It's incredible! Do you wanna play the Xbox with me!?", he spouts with glee, smiling in excitement. He seems to have a very bubbly personality.
I smile back, "Well, I live here. And so do you". He eyes widen to the size of saucers.
"Really!? When did that happen? I actually don't remember much of anything. But have you heard this song? I love it", he spouts, happily jumping from one topic to another. Grabbing onto his headphone, he slips them down and turns the ends, making a pair of speakers that merrily blare out some rock song. He may be a little hyper, but he's already rubbing off on me. Demon was a lot colder when we first met.
"Well, I wanna introduce you to the everyone else who lives here. We have a lot to talk about", I tell him, putting an arm around his shoulders, "My name's Deadlox, or Ty, by the way".
He giggles at that, "My name is like that! I'm Beatlox".
Although theres's lots of things to worry about, I push them to the back of my mind. We may have had a car crash, and a robber, but that's nothing compared to what we've been through. Maybe I have friends coming over that must not find out about all the 'ghost' in my house, but that's ok. We'll get through.
And now there's one more of us along for the ride.
