Percy was on his off day when the sudden message from Stratford Tower News Station started, he and Lucas were watching tv while Estelle finished some homework she had been given on the floor.
on the screen was an android that didn't display his skin, showing that without an LED, and mismatched eyes, that he had a message to humans.
Androids were alive.
They wanted freedom.
They wanted the end of slavery.
They demanded to end segregation.
They demanded justice.
In all, they were human and they were peaceful. But it was time for a change, for recognition that they were alive and not some robots they created that had no emotions.
The speech was moving, and Percy knew that had Lucas no already been deviant, then he would've had he seen the message.
Androids were alive, and Percy was going to help them.
"That's Markus," Lucas said suddenly, as he stared at the face on the screen.
"What?" Percy asked, his heart wanting to trust Lucas but his brain telling him that the police had killed Markus.
"The serial number on his cheek, it's Markus'," Lucas said is disbelief and Percy felt glee swell inside his heart.
He closed his eyes as he tried to contain the happiness that was waiting to be released from his body. "Thank god," Percy muttered.
The cloud that had been hanging over him since Markus' death had lifted, instead, Percy was ready to grasp onto the hand reaching out for his own. He had hope, and with that hope he knew he was going to help as many androids as he could.
"With the message, some humans are going to kick their androids out, Lucas go around under my orders and try to direct as many of them to Jericho. Markus is going to need help if he wants to give Androids freedom. Depending on how the government reacts, you might have to go to," Percy said, his mind racing as thoughts entered and exited.
These were changing times, and Percy was determined to help as much as he could.
Lucas left quickly, his mind already on the file that contained the clues to find Jericho. He took Mrs.O'Leary with him in case any protestors were to try anything against him and to make it seem like he was just walking the family dog.
He ducked between alleys casually, and ended up finding two Traci's from the Eden Club that he remembers seeing on the news a few days ago.
"You're deviant," Lucas said calmly as Mrs.O'Leary sat by his legs relaxed, but you could tell alert for any sudden sounds or movements.
"Yes, are you?" The blue-haired Traci asked cautiously.
"I am, there's this place. Jericho, this will lead you to it. It's a safe place for people like us," Lucas said as the skin on his hands retracted. The blue haired Traci let go of her lovers hand and connected with Lucas.
Showing them the clues, he then told them to go to Percy's apartment for a change of clothes, he was human but Lucas promised that Percy wouldn't harm them or try to touch them in anyway.
Not having much of a choice, as they were still in their revealing clothing that consisted of Eden Club logo, they went to the apartment Lucas gave reluctantly.
Lucas, continued on his walk, finding some androids that had been left on the street by their owners after the broadcast and directed them to Jericho.
Percy meanwhile, was making sure Estelle had finished her homework and was in the process of fixing spaghetti for dinner when the front door was knocked on.
Making sure not to burn the place, Percy left the stove for the moment to answer the door. He made sure Estelle stayed on the couch and had her phone with her before answering.
"Hello?" Percy asked cautiously as he saw two android females in front of him.
"Are you Percy Jackson?" The brown-haired Traci asked cautiously as the two were ready to fight for their lives if it wasn't.
"I am, did Lucas send you?" Percy asked as he opened the door just slightly wider.
He understood immediately why Lucas sent them here, the two were still in their Eden outfits and would be spotted immediately if they tried to go anywhere in public.
"Can you help us?" The blue haired on asked.
Percy nodded and finally opened the door wide enough for them to enter. Hopefully his neighbor didn't see, it would be hard to explain why he had two female androids that were sex-bots with him. Especially as his neighbor knew that Estelle lived here and that he was gay.
Letting them into the room, he noticed that the two androids zoned in on Estelle who was leaning against the back couch cushions as she glanced at the two new androids curiously.
"Hello," Estelle said happily and eagerly, "I'm Estelle. Don't worry, my big brother will help you! He helps loads of androids!" he chirped.
"That's suppose to be a secret, Estelle," Percy chided softly as he walked toward the hallway closet and grabbed a box from the top shelf.
"Grab what you need, my friend Annabeth sometimes stays over when she visits and forgets clothes. There's some of Thalia's stuff in there too, but she has more of a punk-rock look. There are also some more male clothing in the other box on the shelf in the closet if you want something from there. I'll grab two extra winter coats I have stored in my room for you. You might not need it but at this time of year and all the snow on the ground you don't want to stand out," Percy explained as he checked on the spaghetti before disappearing into his room.
"So what type of androids are you?" Estelle asked as the two androids took turns changing in the bathroom and were quickly back in the living room waiting for Percy.
The blue-haired androids didn't seem to want to really say what type they were, but the brown-haired on said, "We work at the Eden Club. Do you know what type of androids work there?"
Estelle looked sad as she nodded and looked like she wanted to ry. "I'm really sorry what people do to you. Humanity sucks," she said with a final nod like that was the end of discussion.
"Swear jar!" Percy called out from his room, his voice growing just a bit louder as he appeared back in the living room.
Huffing, Estelle went to her room to grab a quarter and placed it in a jar by the fridge that had the colorful tag of "Swear Jar" on it.
"I didn't know sucks was a swear word?" The blue haired whispered to her girlfriend.
"My mother considers it a swear word. While she didn't always correct me, but we're both trying to make sure Estelle doesn't really curse until she's like, fourteen," Percy explained as he handed each of the ladies a coat and winter hat.
"I'm curious. I've been watching you and you haven't even tried to look at our ass or boobs, why?" The blue-haired Traci asked and ignored her partners disapproving frown.
"I'm gay," Percy sad bluntly but with a hint of blush. "So, while I'm not blind. Those parts aren't what I'm looking for. Should you have been a male Eden Club worker, then I would've had to of worked harder."
The two androids seemed to enjoy watching Percy blush, but mostly felt relief in knowing that there were people out there that wouldn't hit on them. And yes, Percy had the excuse of being gay, but he still would've made an effort even if they were male to not look.
They knew that they had made a new friend in Percy Jackson, and didn't actually mind being friends with a human.
"Percy, the spaghetti!" Estelle cried out and Percy quickly swore before turning off the stove and trying to stop the boiling water from the spaghetti.
"Swear jar!" Estelle called out and the two female androids watched as Percy swore again and deposited two dollars into the swear jar.
Soon after that, they left and went to follow the clues given by Lucas to find Jericho. To find their people and to change the world. Hopefully for the better of android-kind.
