26 || listen to your heart

jihoon got to school in an orderly fashion and immersed himself into his schoolwork almost immediately. for the first few periods of the day he kept his head down and focused on the lessons his teachers were giving him.

at lunch jihoon focused on eating. he sat with seungcheol once again, along with jeonghan and joshua. the group had even invited a few of the other club members, including chan and seokmin, which made their table considerably noisy today.

on other days jihoon would have threatened them to shut up or else he'd make sure their bodies showed up in bags in some random unknown country. it was oddly specific but the threat did work most of the time.

but today jihoon felt too upset to even attempt to verbally torture his peers. the pair a few tables away did nothing to alleviate the terrible feeling jihoon had in his chest; in fact their flirting with each other only made him feel worse.

it was after lunch when jihoon found that his mind was clouded with thoughts about wonwoo and that certain blonde student jihoon had grown used to over the past few weeks.

and that was when jihoon started making making a list of his mind of all the things wonwoo had that he didn't.

one thing was for sure, wonwoo definitely had the height advantage, there was no argument there. not only was wonwoo tall and well-built despite being on the thinner side of the weight spectrum, but the black haired student was also intelligent and handsome.

and although jihoon considered both him and wonwoo to be very alike when it came to expressing their hatred for people, wonwoo was more open to the idea of befriending others where jihoon isolated himself when he could.

jihoon was isolating himself even while thinking about all of this. he was seated in english class, in the back of the room while everyone worked with their partners.

"sorry jihoonie, wonwoo insisted on walking me to class because of this plan he has going on with mingyu and-" soonyoung walked into the room, late yet again. the teacher didn't notice him walking in this time, she was busy helping another student with their english.

he sat next to jihoon and explained himself as usual, but stopped when he noticed that the shorter male hadn't even bothered to look up at soonyoung while he was talking. soonyoung was used to jihoon's rude antics, but he thought they were past the whole being mean to each other phase.

"can we just work on this? I don't really care to hear about wonwoo." jihoon scoffed. soonyoung looked at the shorter male with a confused expression on his face.

soonyoung frowned at jihoon and moved his desk so that it was closer to the angry looking jihoon. he leaned his head on his arm as he gave jihoon one of his most comforting smiles. "alright jihoonie if you say so. you seem a bit angry, well more upset than usual, what's up?"

jihoon almost laughed at how ironic the situation was. soonyoung, the sole reason for his terrible mood, was sitting there acting as if he didn't know why jihoon was pissed off.

honestly jihoon didn't really know why he was this upset at soonyoung; he told himself that it was because he was led on by the blonde student, tricked into thinking that all the affection and skinship was because he was interested in him when he really wasn't at all. it was actually very hurtful when jihoon thought about it for too long.

"what's up is that I have a partner who is wasting my time when we could be getting all this work over with." jihoon said with a harsh tone underlying his words.

soonyoung felt his heart crack at the sound of the tone jihoon was using with him. it was hard to stay happy and cheerful when jihoon was clearly upset with him and he had no clue at all why that was so. "okay jihoon, I understand."

the shorter male finally looked up at soonyoung and handed him the worksheet that they were meant to complete by the end of class.

when jihoon looked up, he accidentally caught sight of soonyoung softly smiling at the younger male. and even though jihoon was mad with soonyoung, he couldn't help but feel his heart beat for the blonde student.
