it had been a whole week since soonyoung had started to ignore jihoon and now it was the beginning of a new week. things felt icy and cold and even though soonyoung knew that they only felt that way because he was ignoring jihoon, he still couldn't bring himself to approach the shorter student and make amends.

he was still way too upset about what had happened on their date. he was driven to jealousy because of how jihoon paid more attention to his campmates than to their date. all soonyoung wanted was a little bit of space to cool himself down, but now there was a wedge between them that felt way more real than soonyoung could imagine.

"little bro I'm surprised you're at jihoon's place right now, you're usually all over him." soonyoung's older sister, hayoung, asked as she spotted her little brother arriving home from school. hayoung herself was a college student who usually locked herself in her room to work on her assignments so it wasn't often that she had free time to spare. even if she didn't have free time though, hayoung still knew about jihoon and how frequently her brother had spent time with him. (note: not his real sister's name, it just popped into my head).

"jihoon's busy with homework today, I didn't want to bother him." soonyoung lied right to his sister's face. he had been using that same excuse with his mother for the past week, it didn't even feel like a lie anymore because of how much he's been saying it to those around him. hayoung knew when her brother was lying to her, his voice got lighter and he seemed more hesistant to speak when he was lying, and she wasn't the type to let him slide with the excuses. "you do know that I know when you're lying right? it's my big sister power."

the brunette gulped, feeling suddenly nervous as he stood in front of his sister. he fumbled with his thumbs before making direct eye contact with her. soonyoung could tell by the look in her eyes that she knew something/was up to something, hayoung always gave him that small glare when she knew he was doing something he'd regret.

however, this time soonyoung wasn't the same ten year old kid who had just broken his aunt's favorite vase (he tried blaming on her dog but his aunt didn't have a dog so his sister made him confess later on); soonyoung was older and more responsible, he felt he didn't need interference from his sister because he could handle things on his own now! that's why he tried to talk himself out of this mini interrogation about jihoon by joking around with his sister. "the only power you have is the power of being unable to mind your own business."

"not gonna lie, that one hurt. I'll kill you for that one day soonyoung." hayoung dropped her glare and laughed lightly at her brother. the brunette was pleased by his sister dropping the subject so quickly, but he couldn't help but feel suspicious at the same time. it was weird because she usually loved herself a good old interrogation (she loved watching cop shows and roleplaying as a lead detective in homicides).

regardless of his weird feeling, soonyoung decided to just take this win and head off before hayoung changed the subject back to him and jihoon's icy relationship. he gave his sister a convincing smile before declaring that he was heading to his room and rushed off, completely missing the small smirk on hayoung's face as he sprinted away.

as soonyoung walked to his bedroom door, he let the false smile on his face fade away before reaching for the door handle and turning it abruptly. he froze up almost instantly when he realized there was someone in his room; why, jihoon was sitting right on his bed with an expression on his face that was almost identical to the miserable look on his own face.

jihoon had never been over to his house before, he was astonished that jihoon had even known where he lived! the shorter male who was sitting on his bed stood up immediately when he saw soonyoung enter the room. the brunette made note of how his boyfriend's hands seemed to be trembling with nervousness, before making direct eye contact with him.

the two boys stared at each other; the tension in the room between them was so thick you could cut it with a fairly large knife. soonyoung wasn't sure why jihoon was in his room, but he was sure that in about fifty seconds he was going to ask the younger to leave. he couldn't talk to him, he didn't have the energy to yet-

"please talk to me, I can't stand this anymore soonie please." jihoon spoke, cutting soonyoung's thoughts in half immediately at the sound of his voice. the younger's voice was usually light, but now it was hoarse as if he had been screaming his lungs out into his pillow all night.

it was really hard to look jihoon in the eyes without breaking down in tears himself. soonyoung stayed silent for a few minutes more, debating on what to do in his conflicted mind. he didn't feel like resolving anything, but he felt like a major nuisance to jihoon for causing the tension between them.

there was also the fact that soonyoung missed having the younger male by his side. soonyoung sighed to himself with a small smile as he mentally punched himself in the gut; his anger for jihoon and the jealousy clouding his mind had nothing on how much soonyoung missed his boyfriend. the brunette knew deep down inside that he was going to have to resolve things with the younger male eventually.

that was why soonyoung made the choice close his room door and sit down on the bed right next to where jihoon stood. jihoon was shocked that the brunette complied so easily and was very surprised by the warm tone he used since soonyoung used such a harsh tone the last time they spoke with one another. "you're right jihoonie, we should talk."
