14 || swimming fool

"WOW I LIKE YOUR PLACE JIHOON!" jihoon cringed as he locked the door to his apartment behind him. soonyoung ran ahead of jihoon to get a look at the very minimalist looking apartment, which was very impressive to the energetic student.

"thanks. don't touch that." jihoon said without even looking at soonyoung as he set down his keys on the kitchen counter and threw his school bag on the floor near his sneakers.

"how did you know I was going to touch that? do you have eyes on the back of your head or something?" soonyoung leaned over so that he could give jihoon a harsh poke in the back of the head, which earned him another one of jihoon's infamous glares.

really if soonyoung for a dollar for everytime jihoon got angry and shot him a deadly looking glare, he'd be swimming in a pool full of cash.

soonyoung blanked out for a minute before looking over to see jihoon was walking towards his room. he followed and peeked into the room to see jihoon messing around with a few of his belongings.

unlike the rest of the house, jihoon's bedroom was unorganized and messy. there was sheet paper everywhere you looked, the bed was unmade, and soonyoung even thought he saw a skeleton in the room (hopefully it was a halloween decoration or something).

"wow look at you being a normal teenage boy." soonyoung said in awe. jihoon turned to look at him before picking up a keyboard and walking off into the living room. it wasn't as good as a piano, but it was good enough to play a quick melody before jihoon decided to kick soonyoung out of his apartment. "can I hear you play now?"

jihoon nodded before setting the keyboard up on a stand and getting himself warmed up. he pressed a few keys before cracking his knuckles and starting off the melody on the music composition he had gotten back from soonyoung.

soonyoung watched quietly as jihoon worked his magic. his fingers glided gracefully over the piano keys as he progressed further into the song. you could hear jihoon humming along to the melody, he wanted to sing along but was insecure about doing so around soonyoung.

jihoon didn't play the whole song, he was sure soonyoung wouldn't know anyways that he had only played half of the song, and finished up quickly. he looked up to see soonyoung clapping furiously with a big grin on his face.

"it sounds- I LOVE IT!" jihoon blushed at the compliment from soonyoung. the blonde male seemed to be pleased by how shy jihoon looked and wanted to continue with the whole complimenting jihoon concept. "you sounded amazing at school, but somehow you got even better! wow I wish I was as musically talented as you are!"

"t-thanks, that's nice of you to say." jihoon didn't know why he kept stuttering and he didn't know why his cheeks turned pink when soonyoung complimented him.

just like he didn't know why soonyoung was being so incredibly nice to him even after the trouble jihoon put him through. jihoon didn't even want to consider the idea that soonyoung was nothing like what he thought of all people; cold, mean, and not understanding of anything.

soonyoung had been generous to jihoon and he didn't even say anything rude when jihoon went and kicked him in the groin. maybe there was hope in jihoon that soonyoung would turn out being the complete opposite of everyone who's ever wronged jihoon before.

he did find seungcheol and his friends and they proved to be past jihoon's harsh  expectations of people, why couldn't soonyoung break his wild beliefs about people as well?

"oh yeah I know I'm pretty nice, many people have told me so before." soonyoung shamelessly accepted jihoon's thanks with a cocky smile as he looked around at jihoon's things.

the blonde student spotted a few picture frames: one of them were of jihoon and his parents on their family farm while the other was taken when jihoon and seungcheol were still in elementary school, they shared matching smiles and black eyes in the photo.

soonyoung went to pick up another photo where he could see jihoon sporting his classic angry glare while sitting on santa claus' lap (jihoon was always suspicious of that old man, nobody gives presents to the whole world for nothing in return!).

before soonyoung could touch the frame though, jihoon coughed loudly to get soonyoung's attention. "are you going to leave now or what?"

soonyoung didn't really want to leave, but he figured that a little house tour of jihoon's apartment could come the next time he invited himself over to the shorter male's home.

and as soonyoung was kicked out of jihoon's apartment by the now cold jihoon, he calmed himself down after his blushing fit, he couldn't help but keep a smile on his face.
