Gaines closed the last book in the library and pull the knot around his neck apart. His thin blanket slid down on the couch he sat on. He had tied the ends of his blanket around his neck so as not to forget to take with him when he came here for naps and silent reading. He did not intent to look like his twin whose current Chuunibyou phase began since a year ago and is still stuck. Obsessed with the hero in his favorite kid show, Kai's signature hero's cape swished behind him as he dash around fighting imaginary villains.
Gaines will not admit outright that he took that cape idea to make it convenient in taking his blanket everywhere without having too much on his hands. Plus it was perfectly normal for a six years old to have a cape.
He stumbled onto his stiff feet that were numb with the book gripped tight to his chest.
His chubby face flushed red as he climbed the stair ladder leaning against the book shelf and carefully slid it back to its place. Human Classification For OtherWorld Species Edition XX. An interesting book about fantastical beings ever encountered by humans.
It took him four years cooped up in the library to familiarize himself of some of the knowledge of Acir.
As an otaku, he was fascinated with the amazing information these thick ancient looking books held without growing restless.
The dominant language Were-ling was easy to understand. It's great they had children books to start with. Along with numerous helpful instructional learning books on the 48 different known languages in this world and the known 90 dialects in the various regions recorded down in the ten volumes of the encyclopedia lining the bottom shelf with other informative botanical plant books.
The populated south continent known for their spices and werewolf settlers was Acir. Were-ling was the acceptable universal language in Acir. The other minor languages were Mîreth-tongue for the water flippers, Fo-tongue for the Forest Spirits and Àer for the Winged people. Hums was for the ordinaries. Although the majority were ordinary humans, werewolves took powerful positions in their society due to their similar social natures and tend to work together. Inevitably, werewolves with powers wanted their language to be spoken by many to make communications easier. Many humans were forced to learn the different languages of different races and be sensitive to the dialects in their region or risks spite from a powerful individual they may come across and offend. Hums never got any attention from the other races. Sometimes a were learn Hums for a hobby, just for fun.
The wooden figurine Gaines brought along was long forgotten on the table. A ruse for everyone wondering what he was doing in his time alone.
This world is more fascinating than Earth. It has not yet developed a uniformed civilization. Humans have tried exploring its depths and recorded their findings but there are still several unaccounted continents drifting in the Dääth ocean which has the same fame as the Pacific Ocean. Large, deep, and calm. Touching Āthicâ ocean on its Eastern border and Gęhnnå on its West, Mørr was on the South. They had each characteristics. Āthicâ ocean was known for its population of water flippers , a were race akin to mer people and whales. Gęhnnå was known for its large schools of jellyfish and grey stingrays. Mørr was a black sea. There were too many deposits of pearls and large oysters in Mørr. These were the four major seas. Ignoring everything else. Gaines searched for his current location and its significance. He was in the content in the south seas. Acir was surrounded by Mørr sea. A large continent split in four parts. Forbidden Forest, Dry Eve, Barren Plain, Golden Ring, Raven Mountains, Red Mountains, and Bade City, wolf sovereign.
Then there are the three races recorded.Forests Spirits, Were-people, and Humans.
The Forest Spirits are a unique existence. Their race are deeply tied to nature. They usually prefer to reside in the depths of the woodlands and marshes. Where the source of nature's power rests. They do not take kindly to intruders who would desecrate their homes and humans were always seen to be culprits of any disasters happening in their woodlands. This reason makes them resent the humans and look down on those who associate with them. For forests Spirits they tend to be independent of each other, and cold towards many of those they live with so they don't work together unless a big crisis happens.
On the other hand, the were-people are not much complicated but they have intricate relationships. They can be found in scattered communities throughout each region sticking to their own environment unless they are searching for food and a mate.
The were people includes werewolves, water flippers, and Winged people.
The werewolves are social, loyal, and hierarchical creatures. For most wolves, they tend to be in groups than to be alone. There are always some exceptions though. Those that prefer to be lone wolfs are considered Lost Children of The moon because their nature are extreme.
The water flippers like mer people on earth are water creatures, half human and half fish. They are carnivores and to Gaines's horror, likes the tender flesh of humans. They are sly and beautiful creatures fishermen avoids.
The Fourth race are winged people. Those that are encountered showed a vicious nature but their lack of interest in mingling with other races makes it difficult to judge their common characters. They are more difficult to interact with if you are human.
The weakest race that has been neglected and looked down upon for centuries are the human race.Because of their  weak constitution their cleverness was overshadowed. Their innate nature to thrive in any environment had put themselves into the work force. This allowed them to create their own technology and techniques to make their own lives easier. Their skills and talents made the werewolves deeply connected with them see them indispensable to the were communities but they still remain a displeasing existence to the Forest Spirits.
...and Gaines shivered at the stupid names. Werewolves, Angels, Forest Spirits and Mere people.
He knew he was not human already but he paid much attention to the details of the human race he once was a part of and the bleakness of their situation. Their fate seems to be going into the mouth of the fishes, falling prey into the mischiefs of the Forest Spirits, treated indifferently by the sky creatures, and forced to work under the wolves. It was a frustrating thing to think about.
What can he do about it?
Nothing. He was not part of them anymore. He was a member of the elite in this world. He was the son of an Alpha wolf, the Nephew of the Alpha of the Gold Line Pack.
His blanket was cool to the touch when he finally came out of his churning thoughts, he folded it and took his figurine and walk out to the guest area. There were two living room sandwiching the kitchen area. This living room was for guests. There was a red beam warming up the couches and glass set of coffee table and glass ornaments which sparkled a conglomerate of colors. There was dust dancing in the silent lonely space. He can see the tv in the other living room that was more messy due to his twin and older brother. Then the carpeted stairs facing the kitchen. He walked past his older brother's room then to the shared room. He noticed the evening sky from the window. His family had left him alone after failing to get him out of the library. His grandparents were celebrating their first born grandson's early homecoming. That Alpha cousin that went to an Alpha Academy to make connections with other packs. Tobias was turning 18 soon.
The red orange sun washed over the burgundy carpet and scattered dirty shoes on the floor. What once was a nursery room was turned into a kids room. Two beds on each side of the wall. The left side was the Alpha child's. A bold and unrestraint cherry red paint covered the wall with a big sea blue wallpaper of his favorite tv show, Kai's Adventure In the Forbidden Forests, pasted at the wall beside the large window facing the head of his bed. A small square table was squeezed to feet of his bed for his collections of scattered figurines looking like the characters on the wallpaper. His dresser full of stickers was a few inches near the doorway, facing the feet of the messy bed. On his right side was the deep vibrant green with brown hints from the mushroom shaped lamp and a reading desk beside his bed stacked with three writing books. His chair with a green soft cushion on it was between his bed and desk. He leaned his lone figurine against his books and put down his blanket on his made bed.
He can hear the bang of the front door and running feet. The shout of his twin brother made him perk up and walk out to meet him on the stairs. He was holding a plastic plate wrapped in foil that was forcibly smashed to his chest.
"Food! Mummy made me run this over for you! eat and come back with me to the pack house"
"Oh" Gaines blinked at his twin's rapid fire of words not knowing how to respond.
Kai took a deep breath and shouted again "Hurry up!"
He nodded absently and held the food that was forcefully given to him.
Kai ran up past him probably to get some things for himself.
Gaines unwrapped the foil and eyed the food silently then he walked down to the kitchen to eat.
It didn't take long for Kai to come down and pester him so he did not savor the food and was dragged away before he could take another spoonful. Their house was the biggest in the quiet and orderly  neighborhood. They were very enthusiastic in greeting Kai from their porches but Gaines did not know if it was intentional when they did not look at him nor talk to him.
The community was at the mouth of the dark forest. A small one compared to the others more populated and modern. This was more considered as a village town. He liked the enchanting atmosphere. Especially, the forest.

Gaines will begin to feel he is out of place despite of his earnestness in acting as a normal 6 years old child.
This is a bit tedious but I am curious of what actions a foreigner will do if they suddenly were forced to move to another country. I moved to Hawaii when I was 6 and a 1/2 years old. I remembered reading books I didn't really understand until one day I actually did and that was when I turned 7 years old. By then I went to the mainland U.S.  I was also fat then at that age.
