It's been a week since I've left work and it's been the longest most dull week of my life. I honestly had nothing to do and going to my mothers daily is not an option. I call Katy every now and then to get information on Phil, it's not stalkerish I just want to see how the new assistant is treating him.

My mom came to visit with Veronica two days ago so that was nice until Veronica gave me dating advice. All she did was go on and on about how I should find someone just like Phil. That's the issue she's too busy taking my Phil from me. I'm still mad about my stubbornness to date Phil and regret it every minute well every hour.

Being February this relationship shit gets even more annoying, and I would hate to become one of those bitter singles that complain. This also is my first valentines day alone since like freshmen year of high school. I've always had a boyfriend and for the majority I had Ryan. This year I would have Chris which is equally nice.

Chris isn't quite used to me being home but I've taken the time to teach him to be more social. For almost being 3 he's learned many words, not all his sentences are complete but he can get his message across. His birthday is next month March 27th and I don't have anything big planned, he's turning three that isn't much a milestone but I still plan on having a small get together.

I hear the doorbell ring and sluggishly walk to the door. Chris is asleep so I better keep quiet. Making it to the door I look through the peephole and see Sam.

"Don't you work." I laugh opening the door.

"It's 3pm on a Friday work is over for some of us Bethany." he slides me over to walk in.

"I guess so, either way what brings you to my part of the neighborhood." we sit down.

"I don't know thought you could use help with anything." he shrugs. "Speaking you're about to burst at any second."

"I don't need help with anything I'm doing alright." I sigh.

"Then I can tell you my second piece of news." he smiles. "Now remember stay calm and keep an open mind." he nods his head.

"I mean what news could possibly shock me." I lean forward.

"Oh trust me this news will bring slight panic, knowing the past I thought it was odd." he adds.

"Sam hurry with the news." I push him.

"Phil's going to propose to Veronica." he mumbles.

"What since when!!!" I quickly croaked.

"I don't know he brought it up yesterday at dinner. He has the ring and all that shit." Sam frowns.

"Well I guess that's good for them." I shrug.

"You know it's not good, for one I know you like Phil and second I know Phil likes you." he corrects me.

"I don't like Phil." I scold him.

"Bethany you can't lie to me I know you've always had that small part of you that wants him." Sam shakes his head.

"That's lies." I point to him. "I had no idea of such feelings felt between us." I joke around with him.

"Well I know it bothers you. I mean don't you want to say something." he asks.

"What am I going to say Sam, I don't want to sound like some bitch complaining about a guy." I explain. "Also it seems like Phil has moved on so why shouldn't I."

"Fine keep it like this but just wait until the wedding and your running down the alter." Sam laughs, "I have $500 bucks you ruin the wedding." he smiles.

"Stop Sam I'm serious these two can get married, I support it." I smile.

"Fine if that's the plan, so valentines day what are you doing." he looks me in the eyes.

"Nothing why what are you doing." I ask.

"I'm talking to this girl Jeannette and plan on taking her to dinner." he smirks.

"She sounds lovely." I chuckle.

"But that's also why I'm here, I have someone you should meet." Sam starts laughing.

"No one dates someone with kids." I point out.

"Well Josh has a daughter so I doubt he'll mind your kids." Sam smiles.

"Uh I don't know, how do you know this guy." I sigh.

"I met him at a bar while watching football like 4 years ago." Sam tells me. "He's sorta like you, his wife died like 3 years ago and he was left with his daughter now."

"Well I don't mind the blind date, you just set it up." I smile.

"Ok well he's agreed to it already so get ready for February 14th." he claps his hands.

"What do mean he's agreed." I shout.

"I already told him about you." he laughs. "And he said you sounded quite amazing."

"You can't just be showing me around." I shake my head. "But thank you."

"No problem Beth." he smiles.

Well I guess this won't be my first valentines day alone.
