Magkahawak ang kamay na bumalik kami ni Tres sa villa. We are staying in different rooms but he accompanied me towards mine. Since Ansel and Harper are in town fetching the others, Tres and I spent the rest of the day watching TV until dinner knocked at the door.

"Hey lovebirds." Harper greeted when Tres opened the door. "Let's have dinner in the house. Nagluto si nanay e."

"Thanks damsel. Susunod kami."

"Okay. Pupuntahan ko din si Cedric."

"Nandito na siya?" Tres asked, sounding surprised.

"Oo. Kasama nga ang pinsan mo." Sagot ni Harper saka humagikhik. Nakangiti akong nanonood sa kanila. But most of the time, nakatingin ako sa tiyan ni Harper. It's getting visible everyday. The baby's four months already.

"Si Kendall?"

"Who else?" She rolled her eyes. "Sige na." Sumilip si Harper sa'kin at kumaway. I waved back.

"Ready?" He purred upon facing me.

"Let me just tie my hair. One second."

"Oh babe. Don't." He looked serious.

"Why?"

"I can't let others see how sexy you look when your hair is tied up." He explained. He tucked a few strings of hair behind my ear and then offered me his hands so we can head out and join everyone for dinner.

Looking forward for a better evening, my something unpleasant, something in between disappointment and pain, surged in my veins when I saw the face of someone I thought was not invited. Not Flickr. Camille.

I fixed my eyes forwards, too afraid that if I look at Tres, I'll see him watching her. I'm too happy today and if it takes for me to be stupid to keep the day good, I'll gladly play the role of a fool. Honestly, I was just waiting for Tres to let go of my hand. Gratefully, he didn't.

"Nay, ang bango. Lalo tuloy akong nagutom." He said to Harper's mother who is so fond of him. Who wouldn't? He's Tres Palmer, he has that aura that draws everyone to him.

"Ikaw'ng bata ka, ang bolero mo talaga." Humarap ito sa'kin nang nakangiti. "Wag kang magpapabola dito, hija, ha?"

"Nay naman. Baka hiwalayan ako nito." Mabilis na sagot ni Tres. My cheeks heated up because of his reply. I did not anticipate to hear it.

The dinner was great. The food was everything. Talagang nabusog ako. Buong dinner, ginawa ko lahat para iwasang makita ang nakakairitang mukha ni Camille.

"Ang tahimik mo. Kanina pa kita napapansin." Tres voiced out when he walked me to my room.

"I'm okay."

"You're not." His hand stiffened on my shoulder causing me to stop. "Maddy, you have to start learning about telling me how you feel. Did I do something?"

"I just want to sleep."

"Fine." He murmured and clicked his tongue. After opening the door, I was surprised when he walked in the room comfortably.

"What are you doing?" I confronted.

"You want to sleep so go to sleep." Pamimilosopo niya.

"Wag mo 'kong simulan."Hindi ko mapigilang isagot.

"Ano ba kasing ikinagalit mo?" Tinaasan niya narin ako ng boses kaya napatalon ako dala ng pagkabigla. "Ang ayos-ayos natin kanina tapos bigla ka nalang ganyan."

"Biglang ganyan?"I hate myself when I am like this—when I'm angry, I cry. "I was just trying to keep this day as good as it was and then you kept insisting that there's something wrong. And now I'm to blame?"
