Maybe he was telling the truth, no tricks. Sometimes a bargain was simply a bargain. They had been on his own terms, after all. He could of asked for far more....
But it still mystified her why this Elvis presley had chosen her, had sought out her, Sophia, rather than making his offer to her sister, Aurora. On second thoughts, if he'd really been watching her, he'd know. He'd have gotton himself nowhere with Aurora.
Most probably he'd have lost the diamond and wound up imprisoned for all eternity in a crystal.
Aurora didn't care much for demons.
Sophia was startled by the feel of Elvis's fingertips feathering down the column of her throat, pausing to feel the pulse that beat there madly. She shivered in reaction. She still hadn't gotton used to the spill of the hot, otherworldly energy from his touch. It was like liquid fire pouring between them.
His fingers continued downwards, pushing aside the edges of her coat as they slowly, deliberately brushed across the upper part of her breast. stopping just short of her nipple. It pebbled to a hard aching point. She held her breath. His touch there would be electrifying. Just an inch further...
"Well?" He murmured. "What's it to be? Yes or no?"
She needed more time. How could she decided something like this so quick-
"Yes," She said in a rush. Before she came to her senses and changed her mind. "You have a deal, Mr. Presley."
His eyes blazed over her body. "Good," he whispered, and drew his fingers around the tip of her breast. His power surged, sending ribbons of fire through her insides. Searing away her will with its heat.
His face lowered, not quite touching hers. His masculine scent inundated her senses. His breath was hot on her ear. Hot like the dark realm.
"I'm going to have to kiss you," he whispered. The suggestion sifted through the inferno of her body blanketing her reason in a comforting, soothing numbness.
It would be all right.
Or would it? A niggle of doubt struggled to break through his powerful magic. Her mind stumbled, reaching for the words of her protection spell. Failed. Why couldn't she remember?
"I must do it now, Sophia."
She sucked in a steady breath and again was hit with the dizzying, alluring scent of him. She fought harder, and managed to jerk away. "Stop it!"
His blue eyes regarded her with amusement. "It must be done."
"I know." She swallowed stubbornly.
"It's just a kiss."
Like hell. She knew how an incubus worked. To be able to visit your dreams he must leave a small quantity of his demon essence in you. Preferably in the mouth, through a kiss. But it was dangerous. So very dangerous. Accepting a demon's essence was the first step to a humans downfall. His essence in you created a connection, a bond, between you. The more essence, the stronger the bond. Too much and you become the demon's familiar. Then he'd be able to bend you to his will completely, if he choose to. You could become his slave.
"There's no other way?" She was grasping at straws and she knew it.
"I'm afraid not." His lips moved to wards hers. "You must trust me."
She almost laughed at the thought.
"Just a little. Only enough to open your dreams to me."
"Do you promise you will take nothing more?"
"I promise."
She shuddered out a breath she'd been holding. "Try not to enjoy it."
He looked even more amused. "Impossible."
She couldn't believe she was doing this. Knowingly allowing a demon to put his essence in her, to kiss her, to seduce her. To give him the free use of her body.
His lips lightly touched hers. His energy tingled over her, warming and arousing. His thumb traced her jaw urging her to open for him. She did. Her heartbeat tripled at what she was about to do. Willingly allowing him to infuse her with his demon essence.
The feeling of his tongue in her mouth sent a secret thrill up her spine. What forbidden, devilish things he would do to her with that wicked, wicked instrument?
His fingertips skimmed around her nipple, barely grazing it, a sizzling reminder of the liberties he intended to take. Later. In her dreams. She had an overwhelming urge to lean into those arrogant fingertips. More of his bespelling magic? Up until now she managed to Force her body to remain apart from his. That was until his mouth covered hers and she forgot all about restraint and decorum. Forgot that this was the most dangerous, foolhardy behaviour. And forgot that Elvis Presley was a demon, her greatest enemy.
She quite simply melted.
He urged her to open her mouth wider, his free arm banding around her waist. He tasted so good. So exciting. So....dangerous. she knew well what could happen if she lost her senses she'd be lost, tapped as his familiar. under his power completely. Forever.
She didn't care. She slid her hands into his hair and kissed him back. Tasting the dark flavour of his essence as the tingling heat of its power started in her mouth and sparkled down her throat, circling into her abdomen and lower still, stroking between her legs like an invisible lover. Sweet mercy. She teetered near the edge...near the edge of...so close.
He pulled away. She gasped, and clutched his arms, clinging to him for balance. He stood for a moment, until she steadied herself, and stepped back. He gave her the smile of a man well pleased with himself.
"Until tonight, then, little darlin'." He said.
Then he turned and, with a swirl of his black coat, vanished into the fog.
