(Third Person POV)
"Ugh." Tom grunts, putting the phone down, ignoring her message.
As he sinks in his covers, he looks at the phone again.
He didn't want to reply to her, after he vowed himself not to the next time she did. But after seeing her profile picture, it was difficult to resist. All day he saw thousands and thousands of fans, interview after interview, flashing cameras, and after party. He has come to the conclusion that despite all what he had successfully accomplished for the day, he couldn't take his mind off her.
'Paris was fun! Exhausting really. Why are you up so late?'
He sends.
At that moment, he grabs his pillow and screams in frustration.
He hated himself.
Why?
Because he simply couldn't let her go. Deep down he felt that it was fate that brought him back to her again. As if a second chance was granted right in front of him to fix what he broke. Unfortunately, Mrs. Brimdale's voice echoes his mind, talking about how selfish he is.
(Dalena's POV)
I gasp, trying not to scream in excitement to wake mom and dad up. I quickly get up from bed and giggle like a little girl. My hands and heart tremble simultaneously, as I try my hardest to remain calm.
'I couldn't sleep. Why are YOU up so late? Haha, I thought you were exhausted?'
(Glimpse of the Rest of DM convo)
Tom: 'You caught me! Lol. I couldn't sleep either.'
Dalena: 'That's awesome! I don't feel so alone now hehe'
Tom: 'Same! So how do you like Instagram so far?'
Dalena": I Haven't exactly posted any pictures. But uh, it's interesting! I explore the feed and see some pretty interesting things on there.
Tom: That's cool! Glad you like it. So...how was your day? What did you do?
(Third person POV)
"This isn't selfishness." Tom disagrees Mrs. Brimdale's voice in his head. "Dalena wants this. She WANTS to talk to me."
Tom receives another message from Dalena.
"I can fix this." Tom nods to himself. "I can be an even better boyfriend to her than I ever did before."
He hesitates to reply to her and thinks again.
"No, you idiot. You can't do this. You're insane. She, her parents, mum and dad, everyone will find out the truth." He scratches his head, debating. "If she even REMEMBERS, she'll hate you!"
He sighs, covering his mouth with both hands. "But if she did hate me, it's not the end of the world. I could fix it! She won't hate me for long! I can-I can fix this."
He now gets up from bed and paces back and forth.
"Can I seriously date her again and pretend that nothing's happened?" He questions his sanity.
"You're famous now." He now arrogantly speaks to himself. "You'd make her so much happier than having her stay with her bullshit parents. You'd make her so much happier, that she would make greater progress! Even if she remembered EVERYTHING, she won't hate you! After all the good things you'll do for her, you can give her anything, you can give her the WORLD if you wanted-and at the end of the day, she... won't... hate you!"
Following his own logic, he builds the belief that he has complete control over the entire situation.
With confidence, he replies to her message, while they talk to each other throughout the rest of the night.
New hope submerges into his system, making this the only meaningful thing he has in his chaotic lifestyle.
(Dalena's POV)
From then on, we got to know more about each other. He still doesn't know about the accident and my memory loss yet. But our chemistry.... it's there. I can feel it.
It's been a month now since we've communicated through Instagram, and he had finally finished his Spiderman Homecoming tours. He is in LA currently filming two films and thought of the idea of having me visit. Without a doubt or hesitation, I said yes immediately. It was impulsive but I just wanted to see him again. My affection towards him wasn't even fangirling anymore. It was more of...
Love.
Could it be? I mean, I don't think I've ever been in love with someone before. What if it's infatuation?
No more time to think. After I told the gang that I agreed to see Tom in LA, they helped me create an alibi to my parents because there's no way in heck they were going to let me travel.
What made things much easier, was having all three of my bestest friends come to LA with me. I mean, of course their families approved of the two- week vacation.
However, the facility was the problem. We also had to create another alibi to them saying that I was actually staying in Northern London for a couple weeks to help volunteer for the elderly. Luckily this volunteer program (which actually exists) did not require for parents or guardians to know. After telling the facility, of course they ended up informing my paranoid parents anyway. However, mom and dad surprisingly allowed me to 'volunteer' and thought it would be a great opportunity for me to help others, even though they had no idea that I was actually going to America for several weeks.
Again, this was impulsive of me. Not like my usual self at all. But whatever, I needed to catch the thrill. I needed to see Tom, and he sure as well wanted to see me too.
As we board on the plane, I smile and look out the window, feeling a bit anxious yet excited to fly in such a long time.
