(Dalena's POV)

It's been days since I've slept properly.

Memory after memory of my parents.

My heart shatters slowly in each replay.

The day after their death, I was immediately scheduled to meet with my dad's lawyer about my parents' will. Keeping their fortune made me feel guilty, and almost uncomfortable.

Tom has been supportive. Staying by my side in every step of the way, even when I couldn't find the strength to talk to him.

It's confirmed that I'd be going back to America after the funeral, staying in LA at a temporary condo near Tom's until my bereavement period from the show is finished, which would be in 3 months.

Three months of grieving, and I decide to stay near my ex and his new girl?

First of all, Tom insisted.

Second of all, I had no choice.

I'd stay with Rosie or Vicky or with any of my friends but I told them that I needed to be away from locations that would remind me of my parents for a while.

Good news though, Vicky is the only one that is able to stay with me in LA for three months since she finally graduated from the facility and could use a break before finding a job back in England.

I check social media and all reports claim, 'Tom Holland rushes back to Paris to visit his ex who is grieving at the loss of her parents, at the same time how he basically rushed out of the Golden Globes for her'. Zendaya obviously isn't too happy about it since she hasn't posted on any of her social media accounts since the incident.

After Vicky and I settle into the condo, Tom offers to help pay the rent. I consistently told him not to, but I was tired of arguing. All I wanted to do was just have a good night's rest for once. Vicky has been the greatest friend of all, and despite Rosie's little jealousy over Vicky and I's friendship, Rosie actually appreciates Vicky for doing this as well.

The first night staying there, Vicky and I decide to watch a movie and snack on some ice cream-until I hear a familiar 5 rhythmic knock at the door.

"Hi..." I answer it and knock back at the door the same way.

"Hi..." Tom grins knowing that I remember that the knocking was our thing when we dated in high school. "Just came by to check on you."

"Oh. Well, I'm good." I assure him.

He stands there with his hands in his pockets, nervously swaying back and forth.

"Zendaya gives condolences and prayers to you and the rest of your family." He says gently."She says she's very sorry-"

"Why can't she say it to me in person?" I casually ask.

"She's-"
"Still upset that you ran back to me after you received your award?" I asked, tilting my head.

"Yeah." He bites his bottom lip.

I nod. "Okay well tell her thank you then-" I try to shut the door but he holds it.

"Dalena." He looks straight into my eyes.

"Yeah?" I respond softly.

"I'm glad you're here. In LA." He forces a smile.

"Me too." I grin.

"You know I'm here for you, for anything right?" He assures me once more.

I smirk and notice him standing there is a signal that he probably wants to be invited in.
