Chapter 19: Welcome Back

Everyone went to the computer room. Tord was hacking into The Mother Base's computer.

"Dad, what're you doing?" Kelcey asked, bandaging her head.

"Hacking into the other base. Your mom used to work there. I'm trying to find out how we can break out of her trance."

"Let me get this straight. Sandie was my mom in disguise and you're trying to bring her back."

"I didn't ask her to leave me. And the person that left me wasn't the person I fell in love with."

Tord found out that there was a formula to break her out of the trance. Kelcey, Paul, and Patryk worked on creating it. It was a blue liquid. They put it in a tiny glass. 

"Wow. This is gonna bring back Mom?" Kelcey asked.

"It should." said Tord.

Tord and Kelcey each got a tiny glass. They only had on shot at this.

"You ready?" Tord asked her.

"I'm ready."

They went out of the computer room and ran to the main office. Tord and Kelcey saw Leona in there. They slowly and quietly walked to her. She turned around and held a gun.

"Look who the cat dragged in."

"Leona, we just want you back. This isn't you."

She started shooting the gun. Kelcey ran and hid behind a corner. Tord looked at her, desperate.

"Please Leona! I don't want to fight you!"

"I am not the person you thought I was!"

She shot the gun and it hit a pipe. Gas leaked out of the pipe. Then, there was an explosion. Fire was everywhere. They got out of the room. Tord opened the door where the others were.

"GET OUT OF HERE! THERE'S A FIRE!"

Everyone ran out of the room. Kelcey forgot she had her earpiece on. Tord had contacted her.

"Hi!"

"Where are you?"

"I'm almost out of the building!"

"Be careful!"

"You too!"

Kelcey and Leona made it out of the building. Kelcey looked at her, and had her hand on the glass bottle.

"Why can't you be the mom I've wanted for such a long time?! I finally meet you and you turn out to be heartless!"

"I was never your mother."

"YES YOU ARE!"

Kelcey argued with her for a while when the building exploded. She looked at it afraid. Leona was distracted. Since she had the chance, Kelcey threw it at her. Leona screamed. Luckily, everyone made it out. Kelcey ran to Tord and hugged him.

"Dad! You're alive!"

"We're okay, sweetheart. We're all fine."

Tord looked over Kelcey's shoulder. Leona looked up. Her eyes were normal. He walked to her.

"Tord?"

"Hey babe."

"What happened?"

"What do you remember?"

"I was in the bunker taking care of Kelcey when my boss came. I don't remember what he did."

"He put you under one of those trances... and... it... it happened six years ago."

"Six years..?"

"Yeah..."

"I... was really... gone for that long?"

"Yeah... you were..."

"Where's Kelcey?"

Tord looked behind him. He looked at Kelcey, signalling her to come over to him. She walked to them. Leona gasped, and put her hand on her daughter's face.

"Kelcey... is that you?"

"Hi Mom."

She hugged her. Matt squealed, excited. Tom and Edd smiled. Paul and Patryk did as well. Kelcey felt so happy to finally have a complete family.
