JIM'S POV:

"Are you sure about this?" (Y/n) asked under her breath.

"Positive."

"But what if your mom hates m-me...? I-I did yell at her."

I looked behind me to find the girl's eyes watering and her lip quivering. Her tears hit the toe of her boot, and sound of her sad hiccups were heard. Her eyes were bright blue.

"..I was a jerk t-to her.."

Not knowing what to do in these kinds of situations, I awkwardly pulled her in for a comforting hug. "You're okay. Mom doesn't. I promise. Come on." I pulled away as I ruffled her messy hair.

When we reached to the last step, we could see Doc and my mom working on something on the coffee table and mumbling to each other. I cleared my throat, letting them know that we were in the same atmosphere.

Mom stood up. "Oh sweetheart, there you are, and (y/n)..." She noticed (y/n) hiding behind me. She must only really feel somewhat safe around me. Mom won't hurt a fly though. I guess she doesn't know that yet. "...I'm so terribly sorry that I scared you before. Delbert has explained to me that you've never seen a being outside this house." She bowed in sadness.

I've never seen Mom this way before. I wonder why Mom is so worked up for. I mean, yeah, (y/n) is different, but that doesn't mean she should have special treatment.

A voice interrupted my thought. It said, "Please. Don't bow for me. There is no need to. Besides, you shouldn't be sorry. I should. I'm the one who acted out. I hope you do not hate me."

I stood there, in awe, as my mother walked passed me and gently hugged (y/n). "Honey, I could never ever hate you in a million years."

I'm shocked. I'm surprised she had enough courage to say that, for how shy she is.

(Y/n) stood there, too awkward and not really knowing what to do, waiting for my mom to pull back from the embrace. "Now get a jacket on, Delbert said you can stay the night at the Benbow."

"What's a Benbow?" Her eyes quickly turned purple.

Not being able to answer from still being in awe, Mom answered, "The Benbow, dear, is our home/ hotel/ tavern."

(Y/n)'s jaw dropped. "But...why? He wouldn't let me go out before."

Doc sighed softly.

Mom smiled. "Because it's your birthday, and you're finally an adult."

(Y/n) excitedly stared up at Doc. You could literally see the sparkles in her eyes. Her eyes were SO FUCKING GREEN! "Really?? I can??"

Doc smiled at her excitement and nodded. "I can't keep you inside forever. I don't think Sarah, Jim, or Morph would let me if I did keep you here." He chuckled.

While (y/n) was hugging Doc, I thought about something. Is that....flower blooms in her hair?? When did she put those in her hair?? They weren't there before....and another thing! If she's never been outside, will she be in trouble? Now that she's out and this 'secret' is out? Not the discipline kind, but the kidnapping kind of trouble.

"...and Jim and Morph could come along too right? Couldn't we?" I blinked a few times. "Sorry, what? I wasn't listening."

Doc sighed as his glasses were sliding off his nose and (y/n) giggled. "Long story short, he said we might go on an adventure."

I slightly smiled as I nodded. "Sounds fun."

The girl smiled back as she shrugged off my jacket and tossed it into my open arms. "You can wear your jacket. I'll go get mine. Be right back!"

She excitedly ran up the stairs to her room, her hair was blooming all the buds as she walked up. My eyes followed her up the stairs. "Uh...Doc? Why is she growing flowers in her hair?"

"She does that. Just another one of her powers."

When she got back, she had a book with her along with her jacket loosely around her torso. Mom laughed.

"You two were made to be."

(Y/n) turned her head, confused, however, my face was red all over. "Mom! You don't say things out loud like that!"

I coughed then took (y/n) by the hand and pulled her to the door. "Time to go, see ya Doc."

The three of us waved goodbye to Doc and Amelia, then went outside. Here we go! Hopefully this works for her! Fingers cross!
