Tuesday lunchtime, I had asked Jisung to eat lunch with me at the back of the school where we used to hang out. It felt like the beginning of the year when we used to sit together every day.
'Jisung,' I called out to him. 'yea?' he looked up at me from his phone. I sighed.
'Do you know what love feels like?' I asked looking up at him. He was taken back and didn't know what to say. 'Sorry, I sound very cheesy right now but,' I stopped. What was I supposed to say? How was I meant to explain what I was feeling? What I was going through.
'When you have a mate, you're meant to love them...but-'
'is this about Yangyang?' Jisung said with a slight annoyance in his tone but I decided to ignore it. I nodded slowly. 'Whatever it is, you should share it with him.' he said blankly and went back to his phone.
I was surprised by his sudden behaviour. 'are you mad at me?' I asked quietly. He ignored my question. I wanted answers and quick. I snatched his phone out of his big hands and hid it behind my back. He whined and tried to get his phone back.
'No, tell me what I did wrong!' I argued, wanting to know why he was mad at me.
'Maybe it was the fact that you haven't spoken to me for a week, even though I was the first friend you had in this school. I was the person who helped you through hard times. I helped you with getting used to this new life of a vampire but as soon as you met your mate you cut me off!'
I was shocked. I wanted to deny it but it was true. I had been wrong.
'and now, after so long you ask me to eat lunch with you and for what? To talk about your stupid mate again!' Jisung snapped at me. I starred up at him in silence and shock as everything he said was true.
He calmed down and looked away before asking for his phone back. I gave it back to him as he deserved and he snatched it off my hands and walked off. I sat there in pain and guilt.
How could I make it up to him? Without realising, a tear fell from my eye. I quickly wiped it away and sat up. Why was I suddenly crying? I never cry...
Jisung's POV
I didn't mean to snap at here but it just came out. I loved her, I really did but because of that love, I hurt her. A sudden rush of guilt ran through me as I stomped off, away from her and to my usual spot with the boys.
Time Skip
After school, I was about to go straight home when suddenly I got a text message. I opened it up and saw the name. Just by that, I panicked. It was from Y/N. I still felt a bit guilty about shouting her and couldn't get it off my mind.
'Can we please talk?' the message read. I looked around thinking that she would be close by since school just ended and I was pretty close to the school gates.
I turned around and saw her looking at me from the school gates with a straight face. She got out her phone as soon as I looked back at her.
Making an inference, I thought she was going to text me from that distance so I looked down at my phone again and I was right. I got a message from her.
'can I come to your house?' it read. I looked up at her and saw her pleading eyes. I thought about it and replied to her message with a 'yes'
I looked up to see her reaction but there was nothing to see. She just looked at it with a straight face and put her phone away. 'She's really good at hiding things' I thought to myself as I watched her cross the road as any other person would do.
