14. Do You Remember?

That day Jeno went home in shame. He couldn't get his head around what had happened throughout the day. It seemed like his life was just getting worse and worse. He wanted to cry and never stop. Maybe shouting would help him release all the pain he's feeling?

FLASHBACK

"Is this why you didn't come to school today?" asked Jeno as the inside of his chest became empty and a sense of betrayal filled his heart.

"what- no! I-" Y/N got cut off by the other boy who was said to be Jeno's so-called friend.

"What are you going to do, Jeno?" he asked smirking at the angry Jeno. He put his arm around Y/N's shoulder and pulled her closer to him. This angered Jeno more.

"what are you doing?!" shouted Y/N as she felt his grip tighten around her waist. She felt super uncomfortable since she didn't like it when anyone touched her sides, not even her boyfriend Jeno and he knew this.

He clenched his fists and felt a fire starting to light in his chest when he saw that Y/N was close to another guy who was making her uncomfortable.

"let go of her," he said as calmly as possible.

"why should I? she doesn't even love you, why do you think he ditched you and came here instead?" said Jeno's 'friend' making him angry and shocking Y/N.

"What?! Jeno's the only one I-"

"Shhh, don't worry, I'll tell Jeno to go away then we can have some alone time together again," said Taeson. (from TRCNG, stan them).

He moved his face closer to Y/N's as he spoke making Jeno break. He couldn't hold it anymore.

"Taeson!! LET GO OF HER," Jeno shouted as he moved closer to them. Y/N couldn't watch her boyfriend in this state and got really scared but felt relieved knowing that Jeno would help her. Hopefully.

When Taeson didn't let go, Jeno pulled him off himself and Y/N was freed from his grip. The first thing she did was run to Jeno and into his arms. He was angry with her also but as much as he wanted to push her off him, he held back since he had to deal with Taeson.

"Taeson, leave and don't think you can talk to me, we're not friends and were never friends," Jeno said in anger and Taeson scoffed.

"you realised that we're not friends, now?" Taeson walked closer to Jeno, planning to walk past him but he stopped when he was beside Jeno and whispered in his ear. "I was just using you to get closer to Y/N," after that, he walked off and Jeno looked back at him in anger.

He turned his head to Y/N had her arms around his waist and face buried in his chest.

As annoyed as he was, he grabbed her arms and got them off from around his waist a bit more aggressively than expected.

This shocked Y/N as she stumbled back and out of Jeno's hold. She looked up at him with a confused and slightly sad expression.

"what was he talking about?" Jeno said sternly whilst looking at Y/N in the eyes unintentionally intimidating her.

"I- I don't know myself! I got dragged here because he said he needed to talk! Then you showed up..." she said trying to make Jeno believe her since she was speaking the truth.

Eventually, Jeno forgave her...

"That wasn't the only time that happened...what about the others? What about Hayoung, Hakmin, Jihun...?" (stan TRCNG) Jeno said in pity as he stared at the picture in his hands. It was a picture of Y/N. One of the ones he showed Haechan the other day.
