Waiting, waiting, waiting

I'd decided to stay at the diner for a little while longer.

By the time I finished my homework, the sun was setting. I checked the time on my watch.

7:35PM

I sighed. I didn't want to leave because Pony said he'd come back to the diner to see me but I was really tired.

I decided to ask for a job application.

"Hi, could I have a job application?" I asked the waitress who had been serving me that night.

She was wearing a classic waitress work uniform. Her golden blonde hair was tied up into a bun while her hazel eyes brightened up. She had light pink lipstick on and a pen tucked behind her ear.

"Of course, doll! I'll be right back." She gave me a large grin and went to the back.

That's what I enjoyed about the diner. Everyone was so kind. It just seems like a nice place to be. You get to be somewhat social and deal with nasty costumers to yell at.

The lady came back a few moments later with a piece of paper.

"Just fill this out and send it back when you're finished." I took the piece of paper from her hands. "Can I get you anything else?" She asked kindly.

"No thank you." I smiled then she left.

I did everything I could to keep the worry away from my mind but it was useless. All I could think of was Dally.

Dally, Dally, Dally.

Why did he kiss me?

Why did he ask about Grayson?

What the fuck is going on?

I was more than confused. I was curious, nervous. Every time someone walked in the door I would hope and pray that it was Dally but it wasn't.

I filled out the paper the woman gave me and packed my things. I sighed before getting up and returning the paper to the lady, revising it before it was in her hands.

I put on my jean jacket, then tossed my backpack over my shoulder.

"Have a nice night, Anne." I smiled at my waitress for the night.

"You too doll. See you soon."

Before I could make it through the door, I did a double take.

Dally.

I ran out the door and leaped into his arms. He returned the hug.

"Excited to see me babe?" He gave me his stupid laugh that I loved. It was music to my ears.

"Don't let it get to your head." I remarked the words that he said to me the first day I came to Tulsa.

My legs wrapped around his waist, while my face was buried in his neck. My hands tugged on his hair lightly. The sweet scent of his cologne mixed with cigarettes made me happy. It was Dally's scent. I smiled knowing that he was okay.

The rest of the gang came towards us. They were goofing off and acting like themselves.

I pulled my head back to look into his eyes. He had a light bruise on his defined jawline and a cut on his eyebrow. His nose had dry blood stains and his eye started to bruise. I traced my fingers on the bruises as he winced in pain. I mumbled a sorry then kissed his cheek before he let me down.

Then I saw Soda looking down. He was upset, I could see it written on his face. I felt bad but then quickly remembered he was with Sandy. She should be making him happy.

I wasn't sure if I should ask questions or not. I wasn't sure if I wanted to know the answer to them.

"Let's go. I've had enough of this diner for the night." I giggled as we all walked towards the Curtis house in a group.
