Ten-Training

I awoke to see everyone up and hanging out. I got up and jumped down to the floor. "Are you okay Shadow?" Aura asked. "You were tossing and turning like you were dying." That's putting it lightly. "I'm fine." I said not trying to make eye contact. "You have a nice muscular upper body Shadow. How often do you workout?" Iris said from across the room. I forgot that I sleep with no shirt. I grabbed one from my dresser and put it on. I turned to see Iris still holding that black book. I can't get my mind off of it. Why is the book so enchanting to me? Just as I collected my thoughts, a man came through our door. He was about 6'2 with grey heavy armor and a shield on his back. " Hello everyone. I am your trainer, commander Shar. All of you get dressed and meet me on the training grounds." It took everyone about ten minutes to get dressed and to the training field. When we arrived we saw our commander in the sparring arena. " Glad you all can make it. Before we start, I want to tell you what squad Raven is all about. You all have a special gift about you. You guys don't know it yet, but we are training you to unlock that ability and master it. Until then, none of you are leaving this arena." As soon as he finished, he drew the shield off his back. It was interesting to see someone wield a shield with no weapon. " What are you waiting for? Attack me with everything you've got!" Without any sign of thinking, Shrapnel charged at Shar. His attacks just bounced off his shield and that's when I saw why he had no weapon. A part of his shield transforms into the weapon that strikes it. The rest of my squad charged at him. I could tell that this was going to be a long sparring match. I drew my swords from my back and began to charge. I kept my mom's sword on my left hip for it was meant for a special purpose and I am not using it for anything else.
