Chapter 7: So it meant Nothing

Monday after that weekend. Something felt amiss in the school. Could not put it to words. Since the Regina situation and the Kiss. I felt like it was too good to be true. Come 4th period Math. I asked my teacher for the bathroom pass and the lady was kind enough to give it to me.
I literally felt like my guts were about to explode then in my pathway, I see Regina leaving the printing room with a fuckload of papers and a pink book entitled, "Burn Book". Me looking suspicious asked her.

"What kind of mischief are you up to this time, George?"

"First of all, Wilson, don't address me by my last name. On top of that, this has nothing to do with you so stay outta my way you freak."

"Regina, I bleed red like you. I have a right to know your business just as much as you have a right to everyone else's. Oooooh, I'm sure Mr. Duvall would just jell at the idea of you coming out of the copier with suspicious items like that book."

"You can't tell a soul. I will gut you like a fish."

"I will not be silenced, Regina."

"If you tell I will tell the whole school about your creepo crush on Gretchen."

"How would you know if I did?"

"I see how you look at her. She keeps telling us that she uses you for rides home and nothing more."

I had never been so angry at a woman so much when I heard that come out her mouth.

I angrily respond, "Okay Bitch, I see how it is. You'll get your wish."

"We never had this conversation." Regina says as she walks away.

Lunch and 5th period came. Gretchen was nowhere in sight. Then come passing time. I see the same papers Regina had on the floor. No sight of Gretchen. Before I knew it the whole school was thrown into pandemonium. Every junior girl read that shit on the floor and started going crazy and fighting each other. It was utter chaos. I actually ended up getting accidentally pushed into Jason. When we got up he shouted,

"Stay away from Gretchen you freak! Regina told me all about it."

"That bitch. I knew I should have stopped her. Look dude, Gretchen doesn't like you. You keep playing her out."

"Oh yeah, well explain why she kissed me last Saturday at Cady's party"

My heart sank as I heard that.

Me looking shocked I say, "You and Gretchen what?! She told me she was confused, fuckwad!"

"Yeah, she was confusing you the whole time. It's nice guys like you that finish last." He says as he gets close to me.

He grabs Me by my shirt and says, "Gretchen is mine, you got that?"

"Look, you have 5 seconds to let go of my shirt." I start counting down in my head.

"And what if I don't, huh?"

3...2....1....BOW! I punched Jason flat on his ass.

"Your dead band geek!"

I shoot back, "It's game day punk, and you're about to take one for the team!" I say as I square up with him.

He swings at me and he misses. He swings again and hits his hand on a locker door and then I left jab him into a right cross. Then he tries to grab him and while he tries I put my leg up to kick him off. Then I hit him with two straight jabs and an uppercut. Then he tries to punch me and I counter by grabbing his hand and backfisting him like a martial artist.

"What ya got? What ya got? Bring it!"

I taunt at him. He responds, "Just getting warmed up."

I go for a punch and miss as he ducked. Then he hit me with a shot to stomach and then kneed my forehead.

"I got more Bitch, come on!"

I angrily get up and face him again. He goes to kick me and I grab his leg and elbow it damn near breaking it then I sweep him off his other leg. He tried to grab me as he got up, I threw off his arms and headbutted him. Me feeling the effects of it he took his opportunity to go for a slam. I raked his eyes as he tried to grab me and he let go holding his face.

I yell out, "YEAHHHH!" Then I get him in a Thai clinch combo. I hit him with 3 straight knees and the last knee hit him square in his eye making him fall holding his face. Then I mounted him choked his head and slammed it a few times then I heatbutted him into the concrete. Then I unleashed my inner Bruce Lee and gave him the ending to, "Fists of Fury" punches. So much so that not even principal Duvalls fire alarm water could stop me. Jason was laid out. Jason's friends, the principal, the math teacher, all pulled me off of him. Cady and Karen watched in awe as Gretchen says as she looks at his KO'D self

"Jason are you okay?" Then she looked at me, "Ty, what happened are you okay?"

"I'm fine, Gretchen." I say with tears forming as I walk away.

"Go directly to my office, Tyler." Principal Duvall says.

"So it meant Nothing, huh Gretchen?" I say under my breath.

Once in his office, he asked questions about how all of this formulated. I answered them honestly without hesitation and, you guessed it: I and Jason were suspended for the rest of that week.

Gretchen began blowing up my cell phone. I couldn't answer because of how hard I was crying in my car. I didn't want to come off vulnerable to her.

I turned on my copy of Michael Jackson's "Bad" album and turned on "Leave me Alone". I sang along as usual. If there was anyone that I didn't know personally that could dry my tears it was my main man Michael.
