Chapter Thirty-Five

"Hey Mom." Jungkook says once his mother answers the phone.

"Hey. How are you doing?" The woman asks.

"I'm doing okay. There's a lot that's happened recently and I had a question for you."

"Ask away, kiddo."

"Can I come home this weekend?"

"Of course! I'll get your room ready. Can I ask a question, though?"

"Always."

"What's got you wanting to come back home?"

"I... well I was going to surprise you with this, but I have someone I want you to meet. It's pretty serious and you guys haven't met him yet."

"Oh? Look at my baby get it! Okay, so what's his name?"

"His name is Taehyung. He's so sweet."

"Oh really? Well, how did you two meet?"

"It's a long story and there are a lot of things happening right now but I need for you and Dad to meet him because it would feel wrong if you didn't."

"You act like you're marrying Taehyung."

"Um..."

"Wait. Are you marrying Taehyung?"

"Maybe kinda sorta?"

"Oh my God, Jeon Jungkook! And I was not aware of this sooner? How long have you known him? Have you done the deed? Do you have a ring? What's going on? Is his family nice? Are you okay? Whose ass do I need to beat? Is he cute?"

"Mom, listen. I can't tell you the story right now because I'm on my way to work but to answer a few of your questions, we haven't done anything, I don't have a ring and I'm not worried about it, his family is beyond nice, I'm fine, and no one's ass needs beating."

"That answers all of the unimportant questions, Jungkook."

"That was the point mothren."

"Oh shut up. Just remember to tell me the whole story when you get here."

"I will, Mom."

"Okay, well I have to get to work now. You be careful young man."

"I will, Mom. You be careful too."

"Son, you know I've never spent a day in my life where I wasn't careful. Now bye, Jungkook. I love you."

"I love you too, Mom. Bye." Jungkook says before pressing the red button that was on his screen.

"Who was that?" Taehyung asks as he scoots himself to his desk.

"That was Mom. I was calling to tell her I was bringing you this weekend. She's excited to meet you."

"Does she know the whole story?"

"No but she's pretty relax about those kinds of things. Dad might be the one to worry about since I'm the precious baby but once he meets you, he'll be different about the idea of you."

"What do you mean different?"

"He'll be more open. He's still not gonna like the situation but that's Dad for you." Jungkook says, sitting down at his desk and the secretary enters the office with a flash drive and a folder.

"What's this?" Jungkook asks.

"The CEO of McDonald's wanted you to have this. Also, he dropped off a folder for you to look over."

"What's in it?"

"Some paperwork and a proposal."

"Okay, thank you Mindi."

Mindi exits the room and Taehyung scoots to Jungkook's desk in his rolly chair.

Who let this man-child have a rolly chair?

"What kind of proposal could McDonald's have for Kim Eateries?" Taehyung asks after Jungkook's jaw drops.

"They- those bastards."

"Kook, what is it?"

"They want to buy Kim Eateries. They know that we're too big of a competitor so they're just gonna buy us up. No way in hell am I letting this company go to shit the second I get my hands on it." Jungkook says, standing up and making his way to the door.

"Hey, where are you going?" Taehyung asks, following him.

"Mindi, I need you to call McDonald's and schedule a meeting with them for next Friday. Wait until tomorrow to call though. Sound very happy about scheduling the meeting. Do not tell them what it's about." Jungkook says, nearly growling the word 'McDonald's'.

"Hey, hey. Calm down. It's not that big of a deal. We'll get it handled."

"It is too a big fucking deal. We're gonna look at that flash drive." Jungkook says, pushing his way through the doors back into the office.

"Listen, I know you're mad about this but don't talk about it around Mindi. She's evil on her own and she's wanted this company for years, we just never had a reason to fire her. Don't let her see you mad about this anymore. She's probably the one that set this all up." Taehyung says, sitting Jungkook down in his chair.

"Now, do you want to even guess what's on this or do you want to just jump straight in?"

"Neither."

"Sounds like a plan."
